TSR-310

Having an issue with a TSR-310 and it may need to be replaced.? During install was connected to a temporary wireless network.? Now that the new network is in place the remote is stuck 'connecting to system'.? I need to do a factory reset but can't connect over usb.? I tried the 'reset 11 times' trick but that didn't do anything.? Anyone have any other tips before I submit an RMA?

I've been down this road and the 11 times thing almost never works the first or second time. It's both tedious and finicky. Its the same with TSWs, perhaps they should have put a reset button on these things.

Are you basically just trying to get to the setup screen of the remote?? If so, then you need to do the standard Power ? Microphone ? Hamburger button ? Vol + 2 times if not 3 depending on if it wants to take. ?That will trigger the Login page. Enter the credentials and then proceed to the necessary WiFi Setup page.

The "11 times" reset procedure is ridiculous, 21st century attention spans are just not compatible. I'd really like to have "words" with the genius who came up with that idea. Was 5 times not enough?!?! Watching paint dry or grass grow is more enjoyable. I will try every other option 3 times before I attempt this.

I second what Pat said. Get into the setup screens by following the button sequence he lay's out in the previous post (I just keep going on the sequence until I see the remote respond that it is going into setup mode). Do you're Wi-Fi thing and once you are connected to the network place it in the dock and text console into the unit to initialize/restore (if you still need/desire to). Now pray to the integration gods that it works and continues to work.?

I really want to like these remotes but we have had SO many issues with them. The last two or three firmware updates that are supposed to address issues with "Connecting to System" have literally made things worse in most instances. We use APs that are on the "tested and verified" list configured as recommended in the white paper - to a "T". In fact, in 25 years I have never used a Crestron Wi-Fi remote/touch panel that is worth a damn. OK, now I'm just bitching.

Also keep in mind that older firmware will not allow you to successfully forget a SSID- it will still keep latching on to the first one you setup. Even after an init/restore sometimes! This was fixed two updates ago so make sure you are on the latest FW.?
