Controlling TiVo

 

I have a Tivi DVr and 4 TiVo minis,
I am using the TiVo 3 series module and can connect to the main DvR unit via the Ip and control the unit.
The same module will not connect to the ip addresses of the TiVo Minis.
How do you connect to the Mini units and control them, these can all be controlled via the TiVo app

I've controlled several Tivo Minis on various projects using the ethernet
module. However, the technicians always took care of configuring the boxes. I
suspect there's a setting somewhere to enable ethernet control.

You do need to enable the API (I forget what ys labeled in the menu..."network remote" or something along those lines) on each device you want to control, including the minis.?

From there just point the module at the Mini's IP address and it should just work -- I've been controlling various generations of TiVo and Mini in my home system for over a decade and it is refreshingly reliable and consistent (I only wish the box could give feedback, e.g. what is currently being played/status, via it's protocol but alas...
