Geoffrey,
I think you hit the nail on the head! Looking at the doc, I see that the pinouts for the two are different. I will make a x-over cable at work tomorrow and let you know if it works or not. controller? I don't have the ST-CP manual handy at the moment, so I don't remember the pinouts, but keep in mind that you may or may not need a crossover cable between the Crestron controller and the HomeVision controller. Here are a couple of snapshots of relevant pieces of my Simpl Windows program: This shows the SerialIO symbol that sends the various commands to HomeVision: This shows the configuration of the serial port that is connected to HomeVision: Given what you've described so far, my money is on the cable you're using between the ST-CP and the HomeVision controller being mis-wired. -- Geoffrey Reynolds ----- Original Message -----

I have tried every possible baud rate with no success. I've set the HV controller and serial driver to 19200, 38400, 9600, 4800, 2400, 1200. Each time I am able to send commands to Viewport from the TP which does appear in plain ASCII (i.e, ,X0003\n). I am also able to send X10 commands directly from my PC to the HV via com1 with success. When I send commands from my PC the x-10 LED blinks on the HV. When I hit the trigger button on the TP, the LED does not activate. According to the doc, the pinout for the HV is 2,3 and 5 which is what I have. I am also using the Crestron 6-pin RJ-11 coming from the ST-CP's COM A port. What are your controller to Homevision settings? I'd be delighted to take a peek at your .smw file (if it's not too personal). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Have you try to send the command directly with viewport of via telnet
to confirm you're able to control it. In the past a have a problem with a NEC Plasma who didn't response to a specific command and i find the command sent was only for a specific ID. WAP54G along with the configuration file from Crestron works pretty well.? Yes they still fall offline occasionally, but nothing like they did when we use the Cisco or Netgear AP's. It is not a perferct remote and hopefully a new OS will improve it , but?we have had good results by using the Linksys product.? We also dedicate one WAP per remote and setup the WEP encryption so no one can use it as an internet access point.? We then have to setup another wireless network for the Internet and we will use Cisco products for that. It is alot of networking work but is easier since we found a Cisco certified IT shop in our area. Ross -----Original Message-----

I have lost a lot of money due to Crestron's product launch last
year....TPMC10, TPMC4x, AES, and Systembuilder all have problems in my opinion. I just walked away from nearly 6K left on a job due to completely pulling two TPMC4X and an AES, and that doesn't count the hours we spent on site with no return. We have heard from Crestron that Microsoft is working with a new version of their CE that would be just for Crestron and keep the wifi connected during sleep mode better. I am about to setup two new jobs with the TPMC4x (that we already had committed), so i will let you know if we are going to pull those too. --- In Crestron@..., "lunarteq" <lunartech@...> wrote: remote and Isits for any length of time it losses connection to the processor have to reboot it to get it to connect again. Re: Napco Gemini X225 Question
Yes, there's a configurable parameter in the panel's setup options.
The security contractor should be familiar with it, but if not, have them call Napco's tech support... --- In Crestron@..., "osiris_matt" <mattbelanger@...> wrote: that when she arms it at night with no one entering or leaving themotions are still activated. On BehalfOf osiris_matt |

2) Run a program like Girder on the PC then connect the Crestroncontroller to the PC with a serial or network cable. Girder can receivecommands from the Crestron controller and convert them to whatever keyboardcommand you would like.I'm controlling my PC using Girder with Crestron and it works great. Girder has quite a learning curve though but once setup it is a powerful little program. I use my PC as a home theater system that runs SageTV for watching TV and Meedio for playing movies, music and the like. The coolest thing about Girder is it allows me to control my PC through Ethernet. No serial or IR cables to deal with. |

selling them for the time being as a result. That being said we have managed to get about four of them working consistently on dedicated, hidden, unencrypted SSIDs that are located within the immediate vicinity (ie between 5 and 15 feet) of the remotes base location and only a couple of call backs. IIRC The remote dropping connection after a time is an RMA issue, but the details elude me, but if you have been diligent and kept track of all your troubleshooting you should be able to force them into an RMA, hopefully they wont replace it with a similarly faulty unit. Its a shame really, this is a great form factor (despite standard complaints) and the market is definitely looking for it. ChipG --- In Crestron@..., "Edward" <eddopson@...> wrote:

Re: TPMC-4x Touchpanels
Yes, the one I have at home that has the same issue.
I also have a client with four of these panels and two of the four lost their WEP key in the first week requiring a site visit to enter the information back into the setup. It seems that if the panel gets left off the charging base and the battery runs down bad things follow (loss of information and setup keys, reboots to reconnect to AP, etc.) I predict that this panel will go the way of the TPMC-10 in short order. /tr _____ From: Crestron@...
