Re: Crestron Lutron QSX Keypad Emulation

Does anybody know if there is a solution for this? I worked with Jen E. from ControlConcepts on this and we bounced around a bunch of attempts.? Unfortunately, we weren't able to get a resolution from the modules themselves.? I don't exactly recall why, something to do with the feedback the Lutron QSX system is kicking back.? There is a way to do the press/hold dimming concept outside of the module, unfortunately it created a lot of work for this particular project having to monitor load levels and determining when a load was >0 or =0.? Basically, put a press and hold on the button itself, if held and the level = 0, hold the dim+ command.? If load > 0 dim- command.? The caveat to this was the Lutron system doesn't report its actually load level until ramping is complete so there is some more juggling you need to do for seamless UI presentation. We just had way too many loads to do this with on this project and I didn't want to spend the time working it all out ($$$).? We ended up just doing on/off's for each load then setting a High, Medium, Low preset scene for each room. We have a couple QSX systems coming up here this month (for some reason we have been lucky in getting QS systems this summer, probably due to backorders) so I will be revisiting this topic soon and most likely will strip down the CC module and build it out to accomplish this.? From what Jen told me, they didn't plan on updating their module quite yet. Hope this helps. |
Re: Sony VPL-FHZ50
We use this projector heavily.? I have had issues with hdbt but rs232 has been rock solid and we have had better success using a old sony vpl-fx51 module over sending the commands ourselves.
we? use 38400 8 data bit 1 stop bit e parity for the serial port.??? I have noticed sometimes when using a cp3n or cp4n it takes multiple upload attempts to get the processor to properly send the commands over serial but that is the only issue we see with this. |

Have you tried

Got this to work IP instead.?
Login with defaults U root P Projector Go to ADCP, turn it on w no authentication Leave port at 53595 / timeout 180 Add a host IP for control system.? Then commands will be accepted.? Note: could not find any way to get the 232 to work properly. The web interface has no settings for 232 at all.? |

Re: Scaling to 2.35:1
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, ? if you don?t want to just to cut off content, then you need a videoprocessor capable of scaling every content into your 2.35:1 AR. The one videoprocessors capable of doing so is the Lumagen you already mentioned, and the madVR Labs Envy (we use as a standard in our projects). Both can do NLS ¨C non linear stretch: the image is scaled into the desired screen aspect ratio based on a combination of zooming, cutting and stretching the image. This is something we usually try to avoid in home cinema installations, as it destroys the original image and can lead to strange visuals, but if that is something your client is ok with, than that would be the way to go. Look here for an explanation how it works: ? Unfortunately, both options aren?t cheap. ? HTH, Thorsten ? ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von AVMaster ? Re: Override IP Table warning
How do you have your SIMPL TSW hardware definition IP Net address settings configured? If you don't have a "Default Address" defined (goes for any IP device) in the HW definition settings an IP table entry won't be created. This changed quite a while ago but still gets me sometimes, but mostly for TCP/IP clients. If you manually add an entry on the processor it would be different than what's in your program. For the TSW it should always be 127.0.0.1 on the processor end and would normally be automatically configured when added to your program. Outside of that, not sure what would cause that behavior but I would thoroughly inspect the IP table, to include the addresses, not just the IP ID and compare it to your program.

Re: Override IP Table warning
When it comes to IP Table entries, most Ethernet devices are written to the .dip file (found inside the .lpz). Certainly a bit annoying, but it can typically be disregarded. |
Re: Scaling to 2.35:1
Zoom would 'throw away' a third of the content, which may/may not be preferable. I would contact AV Pro Edge. They *May* have a box that does it...
FTR, I don't think that DM or NVX have this feature built-in, except for the RMC-Scaler devices. I'm not even sure that they manage aspect ration, which is what is in play here... |
Re: Shared GWEXER
Agreed with JohnMax.? It's the old adage "Just 'cause you can...doesn't mean you should!"...:)
Also, you want to/have to manage the RF-IDs so that you don't have duplicate device IDs...It's obvious I think but its something that if you don't plan in advance, it will be a pain later to make the changes... |
Re: Scaling to 2.35:1
A simple solution would be to simply have the projector zoom and use its masking feature to crop out any over-spill. With the quality of today's projector crop, this throws a pretty good image even by videophile standards.
I actually go rid of an anamorphic lens for my CIH setup and went with zooming only. One looses a bit of light output this way, but it simplifies the setup with little impact on picture quality. |
Re: Shared GWEXER
It should only be done as Ckangis stated. You cannot use the same IP ID on two program slots of a processor. If you were sharing the gateway between two processors though, you could use the same ID in two entries on the gateway that point to the two processor IP addresses. But I am in the habit of making the IDs different so its consistent across all applications?

Re: Evertz NUC=AV-100 session manager
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe biggest problem with Evertz is how unhelpful they are if you have any questions.... Had one of their MMA-10G products and I was trying to wrap my head around theory of operations, capabilities, e.g. how they intended it to be used/implemented.
Asked for the manual 3 times each time support had a different version of "no, you don't need that" or "just use the webpage on the device" (not helpful if you don't have the device). Made me really appreciate how helpful everyone at Ross is is.
That said I seem to recall actual implementation being relatively OK

I can answer general questions but I can't send code samples because the protocol is released to my company under NDA.?
That said, the coding was not difficult at all once the hardware is setup properly.?
