So, UPDATE, for anyone else trying to get these to work. There is apparently a service menu on the particular display I am working with that includes a setting for 'auto off' when no video is present.

Not sure if it will work for you but you can get a trigger from something like an Awair monitor that there is high CO2 through IFTTT. IFTTT supports a number of air monitoring devices. Jay
