Routing issues with control protocol cp3/nvx d30
So I have a cp3 controlling a group of nvx boxes, to isolate some issues i was having with flickering i moved all the nvx to their own vlan and subnet(that's still not fixed but I'll address that in another thread some day)
?
I have the switch doing l3 routing, so no firewall or acls in between blocking traffic, and all devices can ping each other d30 to cp3 and vice versa, all good there, same issue on d30 and a lot of 350s
?
the ip-id won't go online, it worked perfectly fine when in the same subnet
cp3@ 10.0.10.x(/24)
nvx@ 10.0.19.x(/24)
?
My question is, is there a setting I have to set on the processor to let routed devices connect? This almost seems like it has to be something config wise since they can ping each other |
Re: Audible Ring out on TSW 6PL
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYes I will update this once I have the program. It might be a software change. Client tells me one of the previous tenants didn¡¯t like the whole panels ringing out at 10pm for pizza delivery.?On 27 Apr 2025, at 14:00, ckangis via groups.io <chris@...> wrote:

Re: Audible Ring out on TSW 6PL
it would seem to me, if all the touch panels stopped dinging, that it is probably something with the door stations not triggering the program. Obviously, once you get the code and can run the bugger you could see if the one/multiple signals going to the touch panels are being triggered or not. My gut would say it¡¯s a hardware triggering issue versus a software triggering issue¡ |
Re: Samsung Frame TV (again)
So have been trying to find a solid way to control these Frame TVs the month or so. I borrowed one from my work and set it up in my bedroom to test. I was trying to find solid control from CEC /EX Link and realized that it would often "Lock up" and not wake from off when left in Art mode before turning it off. And to some extent it would do that when turned off from HDMI as well.
?
What I came up with for a seemingly stable and solid control is the following:
EX-Link for Power Off and Inputs, Art mode controls. But using IR Discrete Power On for turning it on. It always seems to wake with IR. I can do everything else with Ex-Link but on with IR just works. And since the Power On is Discrete it only turns on. if its on and I send that code it just stays on.
?
Hope this helps.
?
And yes I know no one wants to use Ir as emitters tend to fall off. I really tried to get CEC or EXlink to reliably turn it on. But there were days when I went to turn the Tv on and it simply would not wake up. I could send power on ex-link / CEC 50 times from debugger and it just didn't wake up. pulse IR once and it turned right on.
?
YMMV

Re: Audible Ring out on TSW 6PL
I should have clarified that according to the client, these used to the ring out. The 6pl. But for some reason, they stopped with the audible sound ringing. I have not received the program from the previous company to see what is what. I just thought it¡¯s a hardware issue or hard coded 6pl functionality? |

Seriously, AI wrote my code for the MC3 for the parsing and polling for my projector, it was trial and error. Since I knew what I wanted the code to do (but I don't know Simpl+), I would try the code, tell AI nope, here's the error I got and it took weeks but finally, it worked.

Dean, I will take your advice and try slowly to write some code on my own (baby steps....? :)? ) |

Just a word of advice regarding the use of AI to write Simpl+ for you. ?Take it or leave it. ?Since Simpl+ is poorly documented and is a proprietary language, the AI does not have enough data to do a good job at writing S+ code for you. ?My experience with it when I tried is that it seldom even got the syntax right, let alone best practices. ?You¡¯re better off learning the language and doing it yourself.
?
Btw, Oliver¡¯s advice is spot on. ?Use some type of gather on a buffer input depending on how the device sends the data.

Re: TSR-310 Wifi Connections
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYeah, sure it works in general. But roaming is always a functionality where the wifi infrastructure and the endpoint (enduser device) need to work together. A common issue is endpoint-stickyness, which means that an endpoint holds onto an AP for too long so that it gets actually out of range, instead of quickly moving to the closer one. Apple devices are infamous for such a behaviour. So the save bet ¨C especially for an installer ¨C is to declare it as a single room remote. Which I also agree would be the primary use case for a remote anyway. ? BTW: don?t know if this was already mentioned, but another good way to maintain a good wifi connection is to tie the remote to a specific AP. This avoids the need to create a dedicated SSID just for the remote. ? Cheers, Thorsten ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von ckangis ? the TSRs are of course capable of roaming. I think Crestron position and their 'best practices' that I spelled out above are there to keep us out of potential trouble. with EX devices, they are connected to a dedicated GW, presumably within close proximity. With Wifi, and a general SSID on all APs, there is a possibility that the remote (just like our mobile devices) would jump to a further gateway and degrade the performance. This would be particularly bad if you pressed Volume_UP and then the remote felt the need to try to migrate to the other AP, missing the release... I'm sure that I'm the only one who has experienced this kind of issue we generations of remotes over the years...:) I have had pretty good/stable performance with applying the best practices. of course, you want to make sure that your network/wifi is totally dialed. ? The primary reason that I would want to move a remote, is if the family room got 'eaten' by the dog, and we needed to move the seldom-used GBed remote to the family room to keep them going.? Roaming is not really a feature that I think should be sold with a remote control.? However, Crestron needs to provide a better way to remotely change the Wifi connectivity settings (especially via VPN). I don't think that there's a way to 'virtually' add a new SSID/PW, and THEN delete/Forget the old SSID/PW.? I know that there's sort of a way to do this, but I don't trust it... ? ? |
