Re: TST902

Yes. You can run it over WiFi. Call TB and they will help you.

Files were circulating either here, or in the facebook group.

TST902

Hi guys, I have project where the touch screen is the wireless tst902 and the processor is an RMC4.Am aware that we have to have a crestron ER gateway so as to use the touch screen with this processor, however due to the unavailability of devices and crazy etas, i was wondering if there was a work around to use the touch screen and the RMC4 without the gateway since the project is due very soon.

Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series

Maybe mentioned before, but what about a recompile/upload after upgrade.

Re: Reading current routes and names via telnet

I found the command to read current routes,?DUMPDMROUTEINFO.? The output is not easy to parse but it can be done.

Reading current routes and names via telnet

Edited

I'm building a remote control module to make routes on a DM using Stream Deck / Companion.

I'm using telnet SETAVROUTE command.? I'm looking for a way to read the source and destination names, and also a way to read the current routes.? Is this possible via telnet?? I know CTP can do this but I haven't found any published spec for that protocol.

More VC-4 - SIMPL Debugger

Edited

I am trying to figure out what type of port forwarding I need to do on the network to make Simpl Debugger work with VC-4.
This is not a question on how to use SIMPL Debugger with VC-4 on a local network.
This is a question on how to use SIMPL Debugger with VC-4?from a remote location via port forwarding.
?
I successfully forwarded the usual ports such as 443 and 41796 (so I can remotely get into the VC-4 web-interface and also use CrestronGo)... all that works fine.
Where I am getting stuck is when I try to remotely connect with Simpl Debugger. I am forwarding port 49300 and I am getting an error that says:
?
"The VC4 server rejected the web connection due to one of the following:
- the address has an invalid room id
- the address has an invalid token
- the room is not running
- the room is not in debugging mode
The SIMPL debugger cannot continue."
?
I know all of the above are good because this works perfectly fine when I am on the local network.
I am getting this error only when I try to remote in via port forwarding.
?
Now, I understand that VC-4 Debugger uses websockets (I have limited knowledge of this underlying technology) but as far as I know, Websockets runs on top of HTTP which in turn runs on top of TCP, no?
So in theory, I should still be able to have remote access by forwarding the appropriate TCP port.
?
I want port forwarding to work mainly for three reasons:
1- Some of my customers cannot give me VPN access but will give me temporary port forwarding. Not ideal, but has worked out fine for me through the years.
2- Sometimes I provide remote support using AnyDesk, which allows me to do TCP tunneling, which in turn allows me to connect to the remote processor straight from my machine. I have been doing this forever with appliance boxes.
3- I like to run VC-4 in a guest virtual machine environment and I need to establish the proper port forwarding between the guest and the host. I was able to make everything else work except Simpl Debugger (which is a big deal).
?
I know this group has some really bright minds. Anybody ran into this before?
?

Re: Legrand DMX RS232 GATEWAY

Turns out the device was just used by Legrand,
They have an easy and open protocol to be used by anything, but thank you. The Pharos piece looks cool.

You only need the filename when there's more than one puf file in the directory.

Re: Physical vs Virtual Processor Detection

If you see the same black?cat cross your path twice in a row, it's a glitch in the Matrix, and a pretty good sign you're running in virtual.

Sorry.. there's a GetModelNumber() function in SIMPL+ that may be helpful.? It's also an output from the Fusion SSI System Information module if you want to use that.

?I have used this product to directly convert sACN to dmx for control of simple dmx fixtures LED color changing soffits etc.--if it's intelligent lighting for shows I have used:

?then you can trigger recorded timelines with RS232 or UDP or TCP/IP
both the entec and the Pharos have been sold by Crestron with there label on them at some time or the other
If you use the entec you can use the crestron sACN symbol in simple and you will have to record in ram NVRAM the scenes you want--the unit is around $250
The Pharos is much more versatile and it's Crestron control is easier but you will have to learn how to use the Pharos program to record scenes and timelines that you just recall with a agreed upon string from 232 or tcp

Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series

Interesting, Alex!...
I'll try this.
Though when I do an update, I always use 'puf cp3_1.8001.0214.puf all' command, which I *Assumed* was the same.
I'll try it tonite an update the post...

Also FYI, I thought i had posted this but a friend was thinking that it might be the internal 'watch' battery that backs up the unit. since this unit is 1-+ years old, that seemed like a possibility...
Unfortunately upon checking, the 3V lithium battery had a voltage of 3.01V !!!? so that doesn't seem to be the issue...

Re: Firmware update issues with 3-series

I just updated an AP3 to 1.8x yesterday. This unit was previously on 1.504 which was our "go-to" stable version before some of the certificates went out of date. I always use "puf all" when I update through ftp.? This has been the most reliable way to update firmware and I haven't seen any reason not to do this.? I would assume that it forces each file to update not just what it has determined SHOULD update.

Legrand DMX RS232 GATEWAY

Has anyone controlled DMX from Crestron using this piece?? I have 4 DMX lighting fixtures I want to give controls for on a touch panel, namely brightness and color temperature.? I am reaching out to Legrand, who sells the device, but hoping someone here has dealt with this.

Console command for changing a CRESNET device Serial Number? #crestron

Is there a console command for changing a CRESNET device Serial Number?

Thanks.

Re: D3PRO + horizon keypads + 3 or 4-series cpu not working

Its been a while since i've used the Horizon HZ-KPEX or HZ-KPCN, but if you have issues with the keypads flashing, here are my notes on what the different flash codes are:
Turns on for 5 seconds = The device is communicating with the control system.
Flashes 3 times = The device is communication with the gateway, but the gateway is not communicating with the control system.
Flashes twice = The device was previously joined to the network but is not communicating with the gateway.
Flashes once = The device is not joined to the network.

What flash code is the keypad flashing and which Horizon keypad models are you using?

Physical vs Virtual Processor Detection

I may be having an old man moment but is there a way to evaluate at runtime whether the program is running on a physical processor vs a VC-4 outside of Simpl# Pro?

Re: D3PRO + horizon keypads + 3 or 4-series cpu not working

Never had an issue with either 3Series or 4 Series.? I can send you a screenshot of a D3 with MC3 if you want.

D3PRO + horizon keypads + 3 or 4-series cpu not working

Has anyone experienced horizon keypads not working with MC3 or MC4 processors? I've a project with bunch of horizon KPs working great with D3PRO and AV2. When changing to MC3 or MC4, the keypads just flashes the leds when i try to push a button. Is there any setting may I missing on the d3pro software? (i'd tried to insert serial numbers on the D3 with no success).

Thank you!
