UDP connections below port 1024 blocked on VC-4-PC-3

Hi,

As UDP ports below 1024 are blocked on VC-4-PC-3, has anyone found a workaround for this ?
Some devices have a fixed UDP port to communicate, which makes it impossible to communicate from SimplWindows/Simpl+.

Best regards
Chris

Re: CP4 TCP Connection

Martin,
Yes 5000. Yes, PUTTY at port 5000 using RAW protocol. the most perplexing thing it that the Crestron will establish and keep a connection. Just no data back and forth.

Re: CP4 TCP Connection

I will check it out, thanks.

Re: understanding Teams integration with SIMPL?

They're used with the "Custom Controls" VtPro project, as described in Answer ID 1000880.

There's also a good tutorial here < >

Re: understanding Teams integration with SIMPL?

Hi Mark

Are the Cameras connected to the UC-Engine via USB? If so, have you tried using the reserved joins, as the 1Beyond cameras should now be supported.

Please note that the Panel Type in VTPro needs to be set to "UC-ENGINE-xxx", depending on your setup.

I hope that Helps

Ali

Thanks for that detail about the camera control Tony!!? ?I was writing my post as you were sending yours!...:)

Re: understanding Teams integration with SIMPL?

I'm actually working on a quote for a project with Zoom integration, to this is very similar - Full Disc: I'm learning on this as well so I definitely would like others with more experience on the COMMs side of the world to weigh in as needed...

My initial testing showed me:
?1. Apps like Teams and Zoom run natively on the x70 (and i think x 60) panels
?2. Because of this, there is no real programming to be done specifically for these apps
?3. There are some SMW/TSW tools with the panels that allow you to launch the App from a larger integration SMW program/TSW project. this way you can run your normal program with all your AV, etc. controls and launch into the T/Z app run your meeting, and then come back to the main program **
?4. For controls that the T/Z apps don't natively offer (I don't know what this list is!), the user would need to just back and forth between the App and the main program - not great, but do-able...? **

** As mentioned, there is a programmatic way to 'launch to App'; however, to get back to the main program, you need to press the 'HOME' button on the TSW menu tool (or the hard-button HOME on x60 panels). SMW give you the ability to show/hide the TSW menu widget, extend/retract, place on either of the 4 sides and turn on/off each of the five menu button choices, its pretty cool.
Of course, I hate the little widget compared to actual hard-buttons...

Please, If I've miss-spoken or did not mention something(s) important, chime it - I want to learn!!!

Re: understanding Teams integration with SIMPL?

Yes. Add the "UC-ENGINE-FLEX-TEAMS" symbol to the Simpl program, as if it were a touchpanel. Then add the "Teams Meeting Room Reserved Joins" extender, which will contain signals for controlling the connected camera.

More details are in Answer ID 1000591.

is there an extender in Teams to allow control of the USB cameras from SIMPL?

Re: FGET 70 Series panels

Please post the working script when completed.? An example could be handy for someone in the future.

Thanks, and thanks to those who helped figure it out :-)

Re: FGET 70 Series panels

Thanks! That worked

Re: FGET 70 Series panels

You can use hex escape sequences for '/' to get around this:
CommunicationsSend "fget http:\x2F\x2Fserver.domain ...etc"

Re: FGET 70 Series panels

Still shows up as commented out

Re: FGET 70 Series panels

Wrap the path in quotes " "

Re: FGET 70 Series panels

So I got a little further, realized i need communicationsend at the beginning and now it does something. Problem I'm seeing is that i need the ftp:// in front and // treats everything after it as a comment. How would i send ftp:// without having everything after it get commented out?

FGET 70 Series panels

Edited

I'm trying to set up a toolbox script that will have my 70 series panels download their own firmware from the ftp site. I've gotten my string to work in text console, but can't get a toolbox script to work.

My script

Connect=auto panelip;username user;password pass
fget ftp.crestron.com/firmware/_files/tsw_xx70/tsw-xx70_2.003.1020.001.puf \\firmware\\tsw-xx70_2.003.1020.001.puf user:pass\r

that doesnt work, and the following also doesnt work
Connect=auto panelip;username user;password pass
fget ftp://ftp.crestron.com/firmware/_files/tsw_xx70/tsw-xx70_2.003.1020.001.puf \\firmware\\tsw-xx70_2.003.1020.001.puf user:pass\r

any suggestions?

TSW1060 SD Card Image

Does anyone have the image for a TSW1060 that they could share with me. ?My personal panel is failing and I believe a new SD card will fix it but I do not have the image.

Many thanks

Re: CP4 TCP Connection

These Kramer boxes are telnet on port 5000, right?
If you telnet from laptop you get responses and everything?
