Shelly button press
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, ? i?ve got a Shelly 1 that is connected to a wall pushbutton. I?d like to trigger some events within the SIMPL program. I?ve configured the Shelly Button Type as ¡°detached¡±. I understand I need to use the ¡°I/O URL actions¡± to communicate with the SIMPL program and use the ¡°Button short/long pressed URL¡± functionality of the Shelly. I guess I need to create a TCP Server within my SIMPL program to react to the incoming messages. Can somebody please confirm and give me a hint how the URL in the Shelly configuration needs to be formatted? ? Thanks, Thorsten |

Yes, we have about half a dozen of the Episode 5.1 guys out in the wild. It¡¯s built exactly like every other Snap product, meaning its nice enough. ?It¡¯s more powerful then you would expect given the modest output and it actually sounds pretty good. ?It is very limited on it¡¯s ins and outs but for what it has to work with it¡¯s implemented well. ?Switching is smooth, mounting is nice and there¡¯s a module on the website for it that if I remember correctly is just barely adequate. It also has a web GUI for setup. ?I haven¡¯t had any issues with any of them so far. ?The control is pretty solid as I believe it¡¯s being marketed directly towards the C4 people like all the Triad stuff is. ?I¡¯d give it an 8 out of 10 if expectations are reasonable. ?For a while it was the only 5.1 I could get at all under $1500 so in they went. ?Give it a shot, I¡¯d use one at my house if there was a need.

Assuming you already tried ALT+F12 (Recompile All) and/or recompiling from a new folder on your desktop, try rebooting the PC, uninstalling SIMPL+ Cross Compiler from "Add or Remove Programs", and then reinstalling it before reattempting compile.??

When it freezes, open up Task Manager, go to the Users tab (this is for Windows 10 or 11), expand your username and end any "GNU_Make.exe" tasks. Your compile should complete, usually with an error message about the module it got stuck on. Just recompile it again until you get a good compile. It may take several tries. Sometimes closing SIMPL, deleting the?SPlsWork folder for the project and then recompiling also helps. Eventually it will work!

The mic levels use signed integers (-800d to +100, as I recall).? You can use an ASCALEL to take the feedback from the DMPS mic level and scale it to 0-100% to send to the touchpanel, or do some messing around with the bargraph element in VT-Pro to show the appropriately scaled value. Brian |

You might need to drop back to a Pre 200 version of SIMPL. I had a similar issue on a PRO3 and I had to downgrade SIMPL and databases.? Simpl hangs at Standard Functionality v1.3 while compiling for a DMPS-100-C
I'm throwing an old DMPS-100-C back into production and while compiling a new program it appears to hang when it gets to the?Standard Functionality v1.3 module.
My software was updated sometime in the past couple months. Simpl is up to date, but it looks like I'm slightly behind on the databases. Crestron Database is 213.05.002.00 and Device Database is 200.215.002.00. Has anybody encountered this before? Any ideas how I might try to correct this? |

Yeah, I screwed up and removed the [ ] from ALL the argument signals, not just the ones I wanted...:)
What confused me is that the Logfile adds [ ] around any signal name that it is warning about. So it was warning about an unknown signal called? ~UNUSED~ the logfile shows that the ambiguous signals is? [~UNUSED~]? which looked like it was calling the correctly formatted signal as having an issue. If it was doing that it would show it as? ?[[~UNUSED~]] I didn't catch this until after I had posted and looked at the arguments and saw all these signals, and the group names w/o the [ ]... Another dopey waste of time... |

The Crestron XSPA is a great solution, if you don't need Atmos (we don't on this). Unfortunately its discontinued (mostly because of the lack of Atmos)... Still wouldn't be a solution...remember, it says Crestron on the front so that means its 2-6x the price of other things...:):):) |

Which VLPs were they? any of them the 695's? I'm using the picture positioning also. I do have the stock module with the Poll_Enable high, but not the Poll_Settings (its low). In watching debugger, I only see two poll commands sent regularly, aprox. every 10s, I think they're Power status and probably Input status (I'd have to check this...)... It's weird that you're not seeing the same behavior.?? |

I don?t know the availability in the US, but probably that could be a cost-efficient option as well? ? No experience with the Episode thing. ? Cheers, ? All he needs is 5.1 only, modest power (he doesn't play loud), 1-2 HDMI in, one analog in, serial or IP control Has anyone had experience with the Snap/Episode Mini 5.1 AVR (EA-MINI-5.1D-200)?? It looks neat, but I of course have some reservations... |

Me too. Clients (and myself) with new Pixels arent happy. At least for me on my home system I have had to resort to keeping an Xpanel open on my PC and using Google Remote Desktop from the phone to connect to that PC and control my system. But I was a big user of the app widgets for quick access to things like garage doors and such- but i'm sure as they did with the iOS app they will remove that functionality.?

Hmm I have several sites where we have various VPL projectors that are hooked up 232 (because we need the user picture position presets for aspect ratio settings), and they are also connected ethernet for OVRC monitoring and FW updates. Havent seen the control break on any of them. Using the VW1000ES 1.0 module as well but I see we also changed the polling in it to poll only the necessary items, as it has tons of useless polling in it that just isnt needed.?
