New Crosspoint Symbols in last Database Update

I noticed the new Crosspoint Symbols that I first noticed in Studio are now in Simpl Windows. Anyone use them yet? They do look promising, but of course there is no associated help attached to them. I'll check them out when I get some fabled free time, but thought I might see if anyone has already tried.

Thanks for the info, that's really useful to know.

Cheers

Depends on the way the trigger to whatever module you're using is written/intended to be used but generally "only once".

Most SIMPL+ logic, for example, is edge triggered -- the action occurs on the rising or falling edge of the signal [e.g. high to low or low to high]. Some logic, though is level triggered, for example a RAMP in SIMPL+ where the action occurs for as long as the signal is high (or low)

Quick one, if I tie the < digital output to a trigger email event will it send the email just once, or continually send it until the < is no longer high?

Signal change reporting rate

Hi guys

I'm trying to get to the bottom of an issue whereby one of the processors on my (dedicated) network (there are 4 in total, all talk to eachother via EIS) from time-to-time fires a random non-stop digital command.. yesterday it was "Sky_Stop" (IR to Sky HD box), the day before it was a different Sky key, before that an Amplifier signal (rs232 to Denon amp) - there appears to be no pattern or consistency to the command it fires. The only way to stop it is a complete device reset.

I've noticed that the processor in question is idling at 9.9 changes per second, mostly from the intruder alarm serial outputs (x2) and the serial Sky program information (x5). Is 9.9 seconds normal for an idle processor? Is there a 'safe' limit?

Even better, has anybody experienced similar issues?

Cheers, Rick

Time to void some warranties. There's probably a PCB trace in there

Sorry, I should have said... same power, features and quality as the Sonnex 24x8, but less expensive.

Hi,

What do the rest of you use if you require more power than AAE's, but at a budget? I need a unit with at least 8 zones (16 channels), full and reliable control, pre-amp and amplifier in one or separates, BUT cost less than Sonnex 24x8.

Thanks!

Re: Weird Network issues between Crestron products as of late?

Thanks!

It could be this type of issue, as things seem to have calmed down and
we have been running reliably for the last couple of days.

Any idea if this kind of issue exists in the 3 Series?

--- In Crestron@..., "ermiller76" <slimdog420@...> wrote:

We have had the same issues at a clients house with a CP2E talking to a Pro2 and a Pac2mini. We have been working with Crestron engineers on the issue and they sent us a BETA firmware that seems to have fixed the issue. We were running the 4.007.00 fimware on both with the same UNKNOWN in the IP table.

Crestron said the "root of the problem is a network link that is going down and back up very quickly ¡ in very short amount of time. This causes us to overwrite the link-up state with the link down state. We will have a firmware that addresses this tomorrow, so this is an option. We could also put the switch on a UPS if all the Crestron processors are connected to the same switch. This would presumably prevent this short cycling. The FW will be a pre-release and it will take some time for this to work its way through our Full QE (Quality Engineering) testing cycle and become incorporated into a released version. Please first explore adding a UPS to the switch (they can do that right now), but if we need to employ the pre-release FW we can do that when its available later this week."

I would contact support regarding the issue and see if they will give the firmware to try.

Also, I have had similar networking issues with using the LAN's PoE switch to supply PoE power to DMCO-55 cards, when connected, I would intermittently loose connection to CP2E, then disconnect PoE feeds to output cards and it cleared up. Also throughput on the LAN dropped significantly. Using PoE injectors solved the problem.

--- In Crestron@..., "innoventgroup" <innoventgroup@> wrote:

Just FYI, I just finished fighting the same type of issues. All of the sudden I had the same network problems with multiple, non-connected, systems. Come to find out, there were two main issues. First, I had ADMS's at both locations and both were a major contributor to the problem. I could unplug them and the problems went away, plug them back in and the problems would return. Also, another culprit was the 4.007 firmware update. And, finally, the center point of the problem was a Netflix 8 port gigabit switch. I switched it out for a cisco 16 port gigabit switch and all is well. I still get errors on the 4.007 firmware but they are not killing my systems anymore. By the way, you can get rid of the 4.007 errors by rolling back the firmware to the previous version. I hope something in my babbling will help.

Take Care,
DAVE

Has anyone else experience weird network connection problems between Crestron equipment with recent updates?

I have had DM Router issues, where it will show the DM Router as being offline until I reboot the DM and then it pops back up online in the IP Table.

This happened in multiple locations with multiple programs/DMs.

On another site I have CP2E running lights talking to another CP2E and I'm having a hell of a time getting them to talk to each other over an EISC.

A reboot of both will usually connect them up for a while, but then they will stop talking.

One processor is showing a status of "UNKNOWN" and the other shows a connection status of "NO_NETWORK", which I don't remember seeing before.

I gave up using Direct Sockets because they seem broke, but this is just basic Crestron 101 falling apart.

VT-Pro..."suspicious swf object" followed by program crash

davidglassman30

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to throw this one out there and see if anyone else has run into it. Have an open ticket with Crestron but I tend to get a quicker response from the forum so I'm giving it a shot too.

Working on a Core3 panel in VT-Pro. Put several hours into it and didn't have any issue opening or saving it last week. Come in this morning ready to work on it further and I'm greeted with an error message("found a suspicious swf object. It will be removed") followed by an immediate crashing of VT-Pro. No changes to file, programs or settings on my end since last opened.

Very fearful my work is lost. Any potential solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
