Re: Crestron RJ11 Cables
You really need to use the 6P6C connector and six conductors. The single

conductor in a 4P can't carry the load for some devices. That said, I just make my own. You can buy the crimping tool from Radio Shack which will do 6P and 8P ( part # 279-405) and the connectors in bulk from Lowes or Home Depot for short money. It's not rocket science and in fact quite simple to do. After you've done a few, you can make a cable in a couple of minutes. The connectors are clear and the flat cable wires are color coded so you can check your work with ease. In a message dated 3/22/2013 10:31:52 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time,

I too have seen this many times. My personal favorite was an old Essentials class program running complete with web xpanel. It was from "Joe's Laptop" and Joe needed practice.

I would agree that if its working fine then what's the harm, however I usually do a couple things when this happens. 1) make sure the physical serial matches what's on the box / packing list. That's how they track when you bought it and thus the warranty period. I have found them not to match on previously opened product, so had I found issue later who knows what the warranty status would've been according to their system. If thats off, swap it or the confusion will never get sorted out. 2) if the serial is correct, call your rep and / or call / email tb about it. Indicate you'll keep it for now, but at least get it documented. (Either emails from the rep or a ticket number from tb). This will buy you extra leeway on the advanced replacement timeframe. At the first sign of hardware trouble, they'll swap no questions asked. --- In Crestron@..., "jcdigitalmethod" <j.j.cunningham@...> wrote:

infinetex diagnostic tool not connecting
So I start up the Infinetex diagnostic tool and it connects and goes thru a bunch of steps, but then at the very end just locks up really bad where you cant quit toolbox and requires task mamanger and killing off the server..
I tried connecting to 3 different MC3's and they all produced the same results using 2 different computers running toolbox, one was XP and one Win 7. Im working remotely. Maybe it was some ports outside the normal range of ports for Crestron ? If you leave it long enough it will finally come up and say it was unable to connect.. I can do everything else just fine on the MC3. Only this tool will not work.. This is very annoying as a client needs to add some things to the Infinet network and I cant connect to do it.. |
Another iPad question.... when I change to another App and then back...
innoventgroup
Ok, here is an odd one. When I change to another App and then change back to the Crestron App, it is like it has a photo of the UI in the background and a functioning one in the foreground. For instance, it will have the icons from the horizontal list fixed in the background and when you slide your finger across it, it will move a top version and keep the back version the same (i.e. two of the same thing). Does anyone know how to keep this from happening? BTW, I can get rid of the extra copy by navigating to another page within the Crestron App and then navigating back.
Thanks, DAVE |
Re: Crestron RJ11 Cables
There are quite a few vendors for custom made cables of all sorts.

Re: Crestron RJ11 Cables
No idea if these guys are reliable, but here's a source:
And another source (I have purchased from them in the past with no issues): You need straight thru RJ-12 cables. Note that telephone cables are crossover (and usually 4 conductor). Re: Crestron RJ11 Cables
You may have some results with "3-line phone cable" as well, but you're really better off just making your own as the majority of "phone" cables (and thus the majority of cables you'll find on the open market) are "rolled" e.g. pins are reversed from end to end

1-->6 2-->5 3-->4 4-->3 5-->2 6-->1 Where Crestron gear requires a straight-through cable 1-->1 (+24V) 2-->2 (+24V) 3-->3 (Data Y) 4-->4 (Data Z) 5-->5 (Ground) 6-->6 (Ground) As you can see from the pin assignments, rolling the cable would be undesireable... -----Original Message-----

That is awesome!! It has been a while since I have seen a "new" piece with something on it already. Just move on. As long as it works what difference does that really make? I know it "should not have it on there" but do you really want to spend time going back to site, not to mention all the time on the phone. Bothersome and should not be happening, yes, worth all the headaches, no. JMO. --- In Crestron@..., Lincoln King-Cliby <lincoln@...> wrote:

Re: dish network IR modules
I think the question was raised because you referred to an "IR module" -
they're usually referred to as IR Drivers and modules are commonly used to encapsulate logic to control a device via the serial port. On Fri, Mar 22, 2013 at 7:28 PM, cheinemann605 <cheinemann@...>wrote: ** |
