Crestron Home

Has anyone successfully setup a Crestron Home system with NAX and Sonos on the network? Running into issues, seemingly revolving around multicast, with NAX and Sonos being on the same Network/VLAN.

Re: Module Poly G7500

Hello, is it possible to have a copy of the poly G7500 module you used.....Thanks in advance

Re: Construct Headaches

I played with Construct for about an hour.? My main takeaway was "time to knock the dust off my HTML/CSS skills" and went down that avenue instead, although Crestron has issues there as well (specifically with their default template).? ??
??
? It's like Studio if tried to be a WYSIWYG HTML editor.? Has that same half baked feeling as Studio.

Re: HZ-THStat

I love this group!!!

BTW, I have already programmed/tested the User interface and that is the only part that I'm not concerned about...(Who knew!!)...
Though, As with every updated generation of Crestron devices, it would be nice if they kept to same/similar SMW interface and just added what they needed...

Re: Just add power module errors

There's some misinformation there. The long integer to integer warning is a genuine warning that you may be losing data due to downcasting from 32 to 16 bits. Whilst it's never normallly an "issue" persay, it can be rectified by casting the assignment. Casting in Simpl+ is done by surrounding the long with brackets, for example:

LONG_INTEGER myLongInt;
INTEGER myNormalInt;

myNormalInt = (myLongInt);

The #SYMBOL error is telling you that the 2 AVSwitch modules are symbol named as V3_04. #SYMBOL names should be unique to the file version.

Could not agree more.? Please have the engineer who did the industrial design retrofit 10 of these in a project and wire 5 of them with a 2 stage heat, 2 stage cool, with floor warming and a remote temp sensor and then ask him if he thinks he designed an installer friendly piece of hardware.

FAIL - base plate mounting holes too close to the margin of the drywall opening
Self drilling drywall anchors
Mollys
Plastic anchors

Retro ring with wings - stat slightly proud of the wall depending on the make of the ring
Retro Carlon box with wings - have to "dado" the drywall paper and some plaster to get the stat to sit flush on the wall

SG 4-square plaster ring mounted horizontally

The crashing while trying to acquire I have seen in the field and in my case it was always due to the remote shipping with old FW.? I updated the FW to release and that issue went away.? Also for those who missed it in the release notes I should mention that you can change the RFID on an acquired 310 via the numpad and top hard buttons mapped to A-F.? Nice add.

Yes, you can set the alarm via RS232, I do it every night. There is a keypad simulator, it works just like the panel keypad.

With respect to mounting and future service needs/requirements, we typically utilize a mud ring or back box, horizontally

Yes, I set up a dedicated 2.4g SSID for the stats (See TStat website/Specs/Communications).? Four of the Stats connected and were able to be set up with reasonable ease apart from the really long reboot and file transfer times.
The other three stats would never see their SSID though they would routinely see the client's main and guess SSIDs and of course the ad-hoc SSID from the crappy HP ENVY printer sitting next to me - So I guess I could get the TStats to print...:)
Support and I tried a bunch of things including setting our special SSID to both 2.4 and 5g like the client SSIDs and doing Factory Resets but they would not see this SSID.

Re: Just add power module errors

The "long integer to long integer" prompt is a common error message we have seen the last?few years. We believe it is a file dependency issue related to how users migrate our Crestron module files into their specific projects (splitting necessary files across multiple folders, etc.). This message causes no operational issues, and has thus not been explored further through Janus. We recommend testing with global and J+P specific Crestron module resources hosted locally (not Dropbox) within the same folder.

The programmer also seems to have old and new versions of the module that are interacting in his project folder (3.1.5 supersedes?3.1.4). He may want to archive his legacy module resources to prevent conflict.?

If the programmer reaches out to support@... we can provide a module unlock code to allow the user to make any desired edits! Alternatively, we can collect logs and help debug.

Re: Construct Headaches

I just timed it, my build speeds are 1 min 16 seconds for the first build after starting Construct. After that it's around 35 seconds for each build. I'm using it on a iMac that's running Boot Camp with Windows 11.

Re: Construct Headaches

There's a Toolbar Option to view the built code.

It generates HTML (sample):

<ch5-background scale="stretch" refreshrate="600" transitioneffect="ease" transitionduration="1s" assetid="0" id="ifp3" componentName="Main Pg Bkgnd" ccid_linkSendReceive="True" devicesVisited="["TST-1080 (Landscape), TSW-770"]" backgroundcolor="#8e8e8e" imgbackgroundcolor="transparent">

and CSS (sample):

* {
? box-sizing: border-box;
}
body {
? margin: 0;
}
@media (orientation: landscape){
? #iuy5g .ch5-button--size-regular .cb-btn{

? #iuy5g .ch5-button--default .ch5-button--label{

? #iuy5g .ch5-button--default{

Does it build the backend as well or just the ui?

A week or so ago, I tried a small project on Construct and eventually switched over to Smart Graphics.

I had the same type of Build errors. I also had older testing files that suddenly wouldn't build properly.? Updating to the current release corrected the build issue.

The layer manager is really bad about the DIV and Graphics objects jumping?to the top layer when switching tabs. Switching to another tab and back again usually restored the proper layers but not always.

After building and loading to a panel, there was an intermittent issue where a Widget (subpage) would show with nothing driving the join. Toggling the join would usually get it in sync but in one instance it was just sticky and I had to take the panel to setup?and back out and then it drew properly... I just couldn't risk having that issue in the field.

Running the ch5z file loaded as a webpage?had an issue where the background was showing a different color than the panel itself.

I imagine that most of these issues could be worked through, but with everything?bunching up for end of year completion, there was no extra time to allocate. On the other side of it, I have a project that I can use to test against future versions of Construct.

I'll be honest. Your best bet would be to learn HTML, JavaScript, and then a javascript framework rather than learning and dealing with construct.

Re: Construct Headaches

Yeah, Formatted-Text does need improvement, as well as MultiLine Text on Buttons, and Button Modes would be nice....been using Serial Strings with Font Awesome and Contracts for each in the Normal/Press/Selected states as a workaround.

Getting used to the Contracts as well.

How are your Build speeds? And what computer platform do you use??

Re: Concord 4 Control

Thank you for your reply. The customer can control it via the Concord 4 panel, but I couldn't handle it via Crestron. Is it possible to set alarm via RS232. I know we can arrange an alarm via Relay, but I want to use RS232.
