Re: Construct Headaches
I played with Construct for about an hour.? My main takeaway was "time to knock the dust off my HTML/CSS skills" and went down that avenue instead, although Crestron has issues there as well (specifically with their default template).? ??
?? ? It's like Studio if tried to be a WYSIWYG HTML editor.? Has that same half baked feeling as Studio. |

I love this group!!!
BTW, I have already programmed/tested the User interface and that is the only part that I'm not concerned about...(Who knew!!)... Though, As with every updated generation of Crestron devices, it would be nice if they kept to same/similar SMW interface and just added what they needed... |
Re: Just add power module errors
There's some misinformation there. The long integer to integer warning is a genuine warning that you may be losing data due to downcasting from 32 to 16 bits. Whilst it's never normallly an "issue" persay, it can be rectified by casting the assignment. Casting in Simpl+ is done by surrounding the long with brackets, for example:

Re: Just add power module errors
The "long integer to long integer" prompt is a common error message we have seen the last?few years. We believe it is a file dependency issue related to how users migrate our Crestron module files into their specific projects (splitting necessary files across multiple folders, etc.). This message causes no operational issues, and has thus not been explored further through Janus. We recommend testing with global and J+P specific Crestron module resources hosted locally (not Dropbox) within the same folder. The programmer also seems to have old and new versions of the module that are interacting in his project folder (3.1.5 supersedes?3.1.4). He may want to archive his legacy module resources to prevent conflict.? If the programmer reaches out to support@... we can provide a module unlock code to allow the user to make any desired edits! Alternatively, we can collect logs and help debug. Ed Qualls? Just Add Power? |

Today I started to *bench* the (7) units to get them ready - Wifi connect, FW, IP-ID, IP address...? Found two items: 1. Who designed these things?? clearly no one who has installed them or had to take one off its base to service it!!! Seriously!! We were already planning to use retro back-boxes but I can't imagine mounting these with sheet-rock anchors-The first time an HVAC guy tries to remove it on a Saturday when he's trouble-shooting a No-Heat call from the client he would rip out half the wall!!!? I'm mean, is Crestron really concerned that a 'press-fit' mounting like the old CHV units would not hold this thing on?? NOTE: Though I found no info in the manuals (Ha!) and tech support had no idea as to the *Best Practice* for removing one after it is LOCKED onto its sub-base, we did figure out that if you put a tweeker at a 45 degree angle into the slots at the bottom right corner, you can use this to leverage on the back plate to pull that corner of the stat off its detent. then the tweeker can be used to pop off another detent and the unit comes off...Like I said, the uninitiated will be damaging something I'm sure.... 2. Wifi Connection... Yes, I set up a dedicated 2.4g SSID for the stats (See TStat website/Specs/Communications).? Four of the Stats connected and were able to be set up with reasonable ease apart from the really long reboot and file transfer times. The other three stats would never see their SSID though they would routinely see the client's main and guess SSIDs and of course the ad-hoc SSID from the crappy HP ENVY printer sitting next to me - So I guess I could get the TStats to print...:) Support and I tried a bunch of things including setting our special SSID to both 2.4 and 5g like the client SSIDs and doing Factory Resets but they would not see this SSID. Result: Crestron is advance replacing 3 of 7 TStats...?? ?We'll see on the next round... Bonus/Easter Egg: On the same project we have (8) HR-310s... Two of them are being advance replaced OOTB One would *crash* whenever I tried to put it in acquire mode... And the other one was physically missing 2 of the 6 battery terminals...YES PHYICALLY MISSING 2 OF THE 6 BATTERY TERMINALS....WTbleep!! Hope you all enjoyed this first message!? Love you all...:) |

There's a Toolbar Option to view the built code.

Re: Construct Headaches
Yeah, Formatted-Text does need improvement, as well as MultiLine Text on Buttons, and Button Modes would be nice....been using Serial Strings with Font Awesome and Contracts for each in the Normal/Press/Selected states as a workaround.
Getting used to the Contracts as well. How are your Build speeds? And what computer platform do you use?? |
Just add power module errors
I don't know S+ well enough to fix this annoyance.? Has anyone fixed their modules to get rid of these errors?? Or could point me in the right direction to fix.
