Re: PAC 2 third party integration
While it will not talk to the PAC2, you could install a small 3/4 Series processor and EISC to the PAC2. Then that RTI widget would talk to the newly installed 3/4 Series processor. He would also need the source code running on the PAC2 to be able to make this kludgy solution work.?

Re: Send myself a text when....
I know At&t supports e-mail to text.? All I had to do to confirm that is send a e-mail to (my phone number minus the 1 and no dashes)@txt.att.net? Within 5 seconds the e-mail showed up as a text on my phone.? The logic should be no problem.? Just have to figure out how to use that send e-mail module in the C data base.? It does say it works with 2 series.? I don't think I need any other service to make it work.

Re: PAC 2 third party integration
It is definitely possible, especially if you just want to do simple things like trigger room presets (or toggle a few loads).
If you would want to get into full lighting interface with direct load control (0-100%, etc) that would not be easy or worth the effort. Also, Do you have access to the current source code? without it, it would require a complete re-write of the code to even change a preset. Its unlikely that the source is stored on the processor. Getting the Source code from the original client/family or dealer would be my first order of business. Please reach out to me if you'd like to review options or to see if I can help you... chris at eicustom dot com |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSo, you are going to upgrade from Crestron to RTI? ? Awesome. ?The programming to hack that up reliably could run into more money than the difference between Crestron and RTI.? Re: PAC 2 third party integration
That solution is for 3 & 4 series. The PAC2 will not work with that. On Wed, Aug 2, 2023 at 11:52?AM nicofreda <cdandcontrol@...> wrote:

PAC 2 third party integration
Hello all,?
We have a takeover job where the owner went to prison for laundering and this new customer is doing a complete makeover except for the lighting panels and so forth. We are getting new crestron keypads though. My question is that were are going to be using an RTI control system, and they have an existing working PAC2. Is there any way we can control the PAC2 with rs-232 and how would be go about doing that? Were barley getting familiar with Crestron products. If it is not possible would another solution be to add a crestron processor to be the middleman for communication? |
Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
My latest article, "Integrating Natural Disaster Detection Sensors into a Smart Home¡± is being published by the good folks at Residential Tech Today Magazine on their web site.
Severe weather, wildfires, smoke from wildfires, and even earthquakes are becoming more, and more of a problem for people in regions that never had to deal with these problems before.? This article looks at sensors that can detect these events and how the information can be leveraged in a smart home. You can find the article here: For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here: Finally, for those that want to see even more content I've written about smart home technology you can find that here: Thanks |
Re: OT: Verizon Wireless Service
I might add that even though I have good WiFi signal and a crappy cell signal and I have my phone set to prefer WiFi calling, it will try to use the crappy cell signal instead of WiFi --? Both for WiFi calling and for Internet browsing.? In those cases, I have to turn on airplane mode and then re-enable WiFi.? I noticed this both with my Android home and with? clients' iPhones.? That use to not be the case but now that is what I have to do.? One step forward and two steps back with newer technologies.? Particular annoying when clients try to do a speed test and think their WiFi speed is bad.

Re: OT: Verizon Wireless Service
I have had that issue happen to me several times.? Cell companies are constantly upgrading their networks with new technologies and removing old equipment.? First it was when they discontinued 3G, then it was CDMA (Used by Verizon and Sprint for voice calls), and now the push it to get everyone over to 5G from LTE. 3G and CDMA is pretty much gone now.? I think they are now reallocating frequency bands used for LTE over to 5G. So while some of the older services still work, their frequency bands are are slowly being reduced.

OT: Verizon Wireless Service
Hi All,
I've been a Verizon Wireless user for 20-25 years in New England and always loved its Great coverage and reliability. For the last 4-6 months things seem to have gone south, even sometimes with WiFi calling. I wanted to see if its was just me/our area, or if other Verizon users have been experiencing a recent degradation in performance... TIA! |
Not Crestron - Need Windows USB driver for Revolabs Executive Elite MIC controller.
I just couldn't think of a better group to ask.? Looking for a link that I can download a USB driver or a forum that might cover this.? It is a confrerence room system I have, but because of issues with the AVIA 1280 and audio over usb connection they moved it to the windows computer in the system.? It had been working fine for 2 years until the pc updated to windows 11.? Now I had them restore back to windows 10 but it still doesn't recognize the controller.? If someone can point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.
