"I can't help but think of our local volunteer FD that went on a run a couple of decades ago while the coffee machine was on only to return to a burned down fire station."
There's an irony there - just not quite seeing it :) -s |

Re: NVX switch recommendations

Sorry for the delayed response. I am not getting notifications when someone is responding.?
I was looking for a single switch that could do a mix of copper and fiber. Extreme has the 5520 series of switches that has 24 sfp ports. I could do a mix of fiber and copper using this switch. My plan was to have 14 fiber connections and the rest be copper. I appreciate everyone's help. B?? ? |
Re: Finally Certified
They make the test hard just for the sake of being hard, never in real world will you have to do something similar, where one's goal is to simplify and find the most efficient way to get things to work, the certification exam is exactly the opposite.Exactly my impression, too. But I really love that kind of challenges because I think that's the way I learn the most. Without that crazy task I would never have learned some tricks =D |
Re: Finally Certified
Congratulations!!!? I have heard what an heroic effort it takes in recent years!!!? It is quite an achievement...
And I'm 99% residential for the last 36 years!? I can tell you that the real challenges aren't the programming details as much as it is dealing with 'Last Mile' consumer gear that makes all the robust pro gear look bad! ...And then there's the dealing with individual home-owner/clients and their 24/7 needs!!? Trust me you Comm guys, your clients are easy by comparison!!...:):):) |

Re: Finally Certified
Congratulations!
I wish I could have the ability for my brain to shutdown and actually complete that certification, but the last two times I requested the test and I saw how convoluted and utterly unnecessary complicated the SOW was, I just was unable to force myself to that exercise. They make the test hard just for the sake of being hard, never in real world will you have to do something similar, where one's goal is to simplify and find the most efficient way to get things to work, the certification exam is exactly the opposite. I guess my brain refuses it. My colleague also made it, kudos to all of youI |

Controlling powerpoint presentation from Crestron
Hi
I was wondering if anybody knows how to control a powerpoint presentation on a computer with a touchpanel. To get the slades in the presentation into the panel as small pictures and the possibility to chose slides. I am using MCU to control the pc from Crestron |
CP4 versiports "locking up"
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, ? i?ve got an installation with a CP4 and a couple of sensors (CO?, temperature, humidity) connected to the versiports. Values are reported utilizing a 0-10V range, sensors are driven via a dedicated 24V power supply. ? In general, this works fine and reliable, i?ve got the same sensors in my own home installation connected to a CP3 and never had a problem with it. However, with the CP4 install, the sensor reporting just stops after some time (from couple of days to couple of weeks. The value freezes at it?s latest state and doesn?t change anymore. A control processor reboot fixes the issue. ? Any idea where/what to look for? ? Cheers, Thorsten ? |
