Re: 3 Series Multiple Programs - Tips, Tricks and Issues
You can enable authentication on the processor, and have multiple usernames/passwords, that are required for login over SSH.
The real benefit to me is bringing Crestron in line with pretty much every other network device out there.? SSH is very well established/respected in the networking world, and if you have to tell network security people what you're doing, is much easier.? If you just say "We manage it with SSH", they leave you alone, vs saying "there is the proprietary program called toolbox, and it connects over this obscure port". |

Re: Cisco SX80
Just did a job with an SX80. Wish I would have read this thread before quoting the programming! v1.0 of the module is indeed a mess. Known issues: directory dialing can only dial using "method 1". If there are two methods defined in the codec database, you can't use method 2 (e.g. SIP). Workaround - save a temporary local copy of the directory on the codec, with only 1 method defined for each entry. Camera presets don't work (saving or recalling). Workaround - use an SIO outside of the module. Although the module's programmer wasn't previously aware of this issue, mine wouldn't authenticate with the codec until I rewrote that section of the module. It was too chatty, which kept interrupting the authentication sequence.?I re-wrote that logic outside of the module, while suppressing the module TX until authentication was acknowledged. Presumably this will get added to the "known issues" list. I'm told that a new version will be released in early Oct2014. Until then, I'm happy to share my workarounds - just contact me via the LiquidPixel Group website. Josh Winn The LiquidPixel Group |

Re: iPad streaming video
H.264 support for the Crestron App has been included since the?1.03.39 update in July. To the OP: There have been some issues with H.264 authentication support that supposedly will be fixed in the next release. Try disabling authentication in the camera and see if you can connect. Also, how is your URL formatted? Using RTSP?

?SmartFTP is another one (not free) that fits our needs well.

Re: NEC NP-PA500U Intermittent communication
Perhaps its a scaling or offset issue? ?I am hoping to look at my system either tomorrow or perhaps next week. ?When I confirm what the "actual" lamp hours are on the devices vs what the module is saying perhaps we can find the root of the issue.
On another note, have you tried controlling one of these NEC projectors over IP? ?Just working up a backup plan if the ones I have been working with decide to lock up the COM boards again.... ?Can the same modules / API be used for IP controls? |

Re: Cisco C20
I unsuccessfully tried the same. The C20 is cisco's "portable" system and ir was the most reliable way to control it. I usually suggest the C40 if given the opportunity just because of the control aspect. Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone on the Bell network.

I tried to control a C20 TC4.2.1 yesterday with the Y cable and was totally unsuccesfull. ?Not sure what went wrong. ?CP2E processor.. ?think it will have to be IR control.. ? pins 2-3-5 to processor ?? |

Re: NEC NP-PA500U Intermittent communication
After having some more time to work with this system, now the communication to the projectors appear to be solid. ?However when using the NP2000 module, it appears that the lamp hours are not correct. ?Anyone seen this before, or do I need to change the command for lamp hour polling? ?Thanks in advance.

Re: Capture HD Reset
I wasn't aware the front USB ever worked on any firmware version. The problem is you can't set the IP address from the front panel. I told Crestron about this since they first shipped. When you set the IP from the front panel it sets the subnet mask to 255.255.255.255 and you wont be able to connect.

Re: 3 Series Multiple Programs - Tips, Tricks and Issues
Sure you can ftp over mobile projects - at least for edits.? I'm not sure if they have fixed the issue of no manifest.xml (?) created when you first FTP over a mobile project. On Thu, Sep 25, 2014 at 9:47 AM, Owain Price oprice@... [Crestron] <Crestron@...> wrote:

Owain Price
We do a lot of mobile projects and you cannot ftp transfer those projects. On larger files loading those projects can take 8-10mins, using SSH those transfer complete in roughly 1 min.

Re: 3 Series Multiple Programs - Tips, Tricks and Issues
One thing about the beta Toolbox is that it unzips the .spz on the computer side and sends multiple files; sending via FTP unzips on the processor side, which (IMHO) saves time on the computer, allowing me to more quickly do multiple loads.
