D3 Pro and Saving Presets on 3 Series
Hi,
??? I saw about a week ago some talk of having trouble saving presets with D3 on 3 series processors and I am having this problem with an MC3.? I was wondering if any of you have had the same issue and if so did you find a resolution.? (I have already started a troubleshooting report with Crestron, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask here as well) Thanks |
Re: Android Project
And one more thing, if you experience any problems during testing (buttons not working, subpages not showing, page flips not happening, etc) ? Clear the Cached data or whatever for the Crestron Android App through your device's Manage Applications screen or whatever it's called.?
I spent a couple hours recently tracking down bugs which I thought were on my end but were really just a problem with the cached files (storing project locally.) |
Re: I'm really confused with DVPHD...
If you have a page in your VTPro-e project that contains four video objects, and you've assigned an analog "input select" join to each object - the value you assign to that join dictates which physical input will be displayed in that window.? The DVPHD help file in SIMPL Windows outlines what values select which inputs.

Re: Android Project
The Crestron "App" is only available for iOS at this time. ?With the Crestron App you can do Smart Graphics but if you want to make just a plain old panel use Crestron "Mobile" or Crestron "Mobile Pro" for projects greater than one page. ?It says in VT-Pro that is for iPad and iPhone but it works for android I have it running at my house right now and use my Android phone to test "Mobile" projects all the time. ?

MLX-3 confusion
I'm programming with my first MLX-3, and I'm a little confused on how its working... or not working as it were...
As a test, I added volume up/down signals on the "global buttons and pages" symbol of the MLX-3 in SIMPL, and connected them directly to my receiver module... I opened up test manager and saw the presses go high and low, but the strings did not send... then I added the volume up/down signals to another page on the remote, and it works as expected as long as the signals are not also on the global page... this seems ass-backwards to me! Shouldn't the signals on the "global" page work regardless of the page selected? How can the button presses work, but the attached logic does no trigger!? Thanks! |

Re: OT - Opinion on System setup
Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think you would even have to implement a custom protocol.? I haven't used them in a while, but there used to be symbols that worked like EISC's that would work over serial com ports, back when master-to-master communication had to be performed over com ports like this.? If you used something like that, it would work similar to a regular EISC symbol, with digitals/analogs/serials, and it just packs it in and sends over com port to a receiving symbol on the far side.? No custom protocol required.

Re: OT - Opinion on System setup
Agree with Lincoln on this one.? I would set it up to control the DMPS
units with rs232 like an external device, rather than an internal
device.
You could make a simple program for the DMPS that get's loaded into all of them, that has a custom rs232 protocol implemented to perform local actions on the DMPS unit, and then sends feedback back out the rs232 port (if you need status feedback or anything). Then your main controller in each room, would just send out commands based on your implemented protocol to a single rs232 port on the AV3, and it wouldn't matter which DMPS was plugged in, as the DMPS would receive the RS232 command and the local DMPS program would perform the requested action locally and send any necessary feedback back to the AV3. This would be simple especially if your only controlling switching on the DMPS.? But would still work even if your controlling IR devices locally on the DMPS as well, just a bit more protocol to implement. Jason Mussetter www.mpsav.com |
Re: I'm really confused with DVPHD...
Hey guys,
I've got a client who wants to rush our original schedule so he can watch March Madness in his theater. My company is doing the control, and I've been tasked with making our Pro3 coordinate efforts to project up to 4 feeds on the screen via the DVPHD-4. Took a look at the example. So far, I've made 2 pages: a full screen and 4 way split. I get how to trigger the pages to come up and each video source has an analog join...I just have no idea where/how source selection happens. We'll have 4 DVRs such that the user can select which screen he wants, and what source to put there. How do I tell it to put HDMI 1 on Screen 3? Thanks, -Nick |
