Re: TPMC-9 crash issue

I didn't notice your response Henry (been very busy), but I came back here to update the thread with some new information.

All my panels are on Ethernet. I disabled cresnet (out of pure desperation), and voila, since then I have not seen it happen. It could still be occuring, but anecdotally a lot less frequent.

So if anyone else is experiencing this, you might want to try the same.

cheers,

I have 16 of these things and 3 of them are (consistently over a period of days) randomly rebooting. I'm pretty sure I have seen it on more than these three, but for now we have identified 3 panels where the behavior is common enough to cause a problem.
Behavior: Panel reboots upon a button press, or panel reboots for no reason at all.
Mine are all Cresnet connected, some powered locally, most powered by Cresnet with power calculations done.

Thanks for all your replies.

Also I have done the initialize/restore and clean compiles. I will try the remaining suggestions to be safe.

To be clear, the panel can stay functional for hours, even days with all the buttons working, before this happens at random. Sometimes it happens with relatively short interval, like 15 minutes, but usually not.

I am deploying to 10 systems, so I guess I?ll find out if it is a bad panel soon enough..

No rhyme or reason. I found it by deleting pages until the problem went
away. Can you load a simple 2 page, 2 button project where the buttons just
cause a page flip to the other page and see if it still has the problem?
(No graphics loaded)

YMMV

I'm experiencing weird crashes with TPMC-9 (OS 3.001.0052, FW 2.11.0039)

Panel dims way before the standby timeout (1 - 15 seconds after a button
press). If I touch it, the picture comes back, only to dim down again
literally the next second. Repeat a few times, then it reboots. Comes back
up as if nothing had happened.

The only message I could find in logs was "render timeout", I'm not sure
it's related at all. Core2 project with a CP2e.

Any ideas?

Recover .vtz file from MTX3/PTX3, possible?

Hi all,

I have a client that we don't have the code for that ruined their PTX3 remote. I think I can still connect with toolbox, but is there a way to get the compiled file out of it to load to a new remote?

WE don't have the VTP to recompile and do not want to change anything, just replace the remote.

Any ideas about console command to get the file?

I looked at the project tab in toolbox on my own PTX3 and don't see any option for extract or recover. I swear I have seen that option on either processors or other touchpanels.

Any tips or tricks to try to get the compiled code to reload on replacement?

Thanks
Jon

Core 3.......ya

Anyone have issues displaying an analog gauge in core 3?

Specifically the analog feedback seems to update slowly. I tested with just an analog ramp and two buttons to ramp up/down. The analog gauge ramps up and down but slowly and keeps ramping visually after I release the buttons.

Same program/ buttons/ analog ramp/ analog gauge - work fine and update correctly on a standard panel / XPanel.

Re: subpage z-order ft-tps4

Thanks for responding. The changelog for VTPro mentions enabling the z-order features for other panels, so it seems like an oversight to me, like someone forgot to set that flag in the database.

In fact, if I save the project as a TPS4L project, I can set the z-order option, compile, and upload to the FT, and the project works just the way I wanted. Just annoying that I would have to resort to a "hack" like that.

I've emailed TB, see they respond with anything useful.

The last triggered subpage is what always shows up. You will have to do some tricks with delayed pulses or something...

I can't recall if the option was there before and has disappeared or if I'm just thinking of other touchpanels that I've used.

Can someone confirm if this option was ever available for the ft-tps4?

I just updated everything with Master Installer last night, so I'm wondering if a recent update may have done away with it.

Re: D3 "link" levels between two switches

Hi Heath,

It is very easy if you want them to ALWAYS match level. In your trigger for system startup, add a new step and change the type to 'connect'. Supply the slave load current level and the master load current level, set operator to '=' and it is really just that easy.

hth, erik

--- In Crestron@..., Heath Volmer <hvolmer@...> wrote:

Is there any way to make one load's level always match another?

I have a case where a slave switch needs to turn on it's load, as well as an adjacent load. I thought there was a way to say "level1 = level2".

Alternatively, is there a way to somehow respond to the slave button programmatically? I can't see anything, even at the simpl level. Might have to pull this slave out and stick in a keypad or dummy dimmer.

BACnet uses UDP communication so there's no need to specify an IP address.

You'll need to have unique IDs assigned for the Crestron processor and the HVAC device you're talking to. It doesn't matter what ID you use as long as they're separate.

Probably the easiest way to handle HVAC control is to use an analog value to send to the HVAC system to request a set point, then the HVAC programmer supplies you with an analog input (input to his system) that will represent the current temp read by his sensor(s).

This way you only need 2 BACnet points per HVAC zone. Add the two for your processor as a device and his HVAC controller you're at 4 points for a single zone, plus 2 points for each additional. Under 50 points can be done with the free license in a 3-series processor.

The hvac programmer hasn't done this before and needs to create backet points according to crestron. How can they do this?

Also in the crestron remote bacnet modules there seems to be nowhere to enter the remote IP address, only the name, id and port. Is this all the crestron needs? We did get some feedback about the remote device.

Any tips would be appreciated
Many thanks
