Re: Crestron Programmer Position in Pacific NW
Block,
I have gotten a couple of tickets heading out of Aberdeen myself, right past the college as you're heading to Westport. They will get you!
The open position advertised is in Port Angeles which is a completely different scene than anything in Gray's Harbor (Aberdeen, Westport).
There are some chemical smells present in our facilities (I mean, we are making fiberglass stuff here), though not too bad in the climate controlled office areas the programmer would be spending most of their time in.

The worst part of that trip was driving to Seattle, I got a speeding ticket in my rental car. The cops and the courts have no mercy in Aberdeen County. The best part was stopping at Lidz to buy a hat for the cold weather. I bought a Kangol ivy cap and haven't been seen without one since.

Re: iPad retina display with crestron mobile G
For the iPhone (retina display), I created all my button graphics at the resolution of the device (960x480). You size the button to be half the size of the image, then select "size graphic to fit button." Haven't tried it with the new iPad but I'm certain you'll have sharper graphics. On Mar 30, 2012, at 12:30 PM, fabiodaubermann wrote: I am curious if anybody here had a chance to play with the newest iPad and crestron mobile...
The new iPad has greater resolution, and after reading on the internet that some electronic magazines which publish for ipad had some issues with publications not rendering right on the new iPad made me think immediately of the crestron app.
Anybody with a new iPad out there?
Thanks! Fabio

It's not a marketing video, but we at LiquidPixel Group have designed a set of control interface simulations that some of our integrators show to potential clients when trying to close a sale. It's an app that runs on your iPad and functions like a typical Crestron UI. (They can see how easy it can be to route video, monitor security cameras and whatnot.) You don't need it connected to a processor or the internet. Just fire up an iPad and you can show simulated control interfaces to potential clients. If you're at all interested, you can go here to sign up and get instruction on how to install the demo on your iPad. -Joshua Elek From: Crestron@... Just curious, don't you guys miss that while marketing your products? I might of course have missed the consumer-targeted marketing material, if so, please direct me to it.

HD-SDI and "bid low" don't generally go together (if price-over-quality, why not use any of the number of composite-output cameras and the HD-CAPTURE instead of the HD-CAPTURE-PRO?).
If price wasn't a (big) concern your best bet would probably be to use a camera (such as the BRC-H700) and a scaler or scan converter to derive your composite output and streaming from the HD-SDI output.
HD-SDI + Composite + Streaming seems like it's asking one camera to serve different masters in different market segments and if such a creature existed I kind of doubt it would do any of them well.

I'm sure it's a sweet camera, but price is high and it doesn't have Ethernet streaming or simultaneous HD/SD outputs.
I just don't think there is a perfect camera for this app (especially when trying to bid low) yet, if there was, Crestron wouldne touting it as part of their solution.

I guess that is why Crestron is pitching a SD sony camera for the application...

Re: HD Camera for Capture-HD-Pro
You're right about the price (as with most things Sony). But, I think there is simultaneous HD & SD out. I know I have used both without any reconfiguring, though I have not used both SD & HD BNC outs at the same time. If the camera with all the features & price point you want exists, let me know. We are delving into lecture capture.

Hey Guys, Am I missing something or is there not a way to do a page flip animation with the Crestron Mobile - or Mobile Pro? (slide in/out left right, fold in half vertical/horizontal, book page turn, zoom in/out from middle, you know, all the transitions we have come to know and love on the iphone. I have some projects that a bare minimum would look really good with some animations. Or better yet expanded gesture control
My personal cool thought - have a page flip effect like when changing screens on the iphone/ipad (left/Right gesture) that as you flips changes pages/sub pages, and when the user stops on a particular page, it activates/routes the video to the display.
Anyways, if I am missing something, please let me know.
Also, does anyone know if there is a way to access the built in keyboard, rather than having to create one myself. I would love to Skin an P-IpodV Doc search page to look like you were browsing your own iDevice.
Thanks for the help!!
