Re: Smart graphics button state (active vs inactive)

This seems like alot of work if you just want to monitor a LED lighting up. I wanted to do something similar at my home to know when the washing machine was done. I just bought one of these photoresistor sensor relays linked below and put the sensor over the Machine Done LED onthe control panel and made sure to mask it from ambient light. Now I have a set of relay contacts that run into my processor. The sensor relay engages when it sees the light of the Machine Done light.??

For our prodiction jobs we often tie in with generators that have an auxiliary relay board that gives status of running/faults/etc. Perhaps your generator has an expansion board that can be wired in?

Re: Smart graphics button state (active vs inactive)

Not using VCC means we're no longer looking for voltage but contact closure.? I think these boards using VCC are switching the negative by looking at the traces on the back side.

Re: Smart graphics button state (active vs inactive)

A little more probing tells me there is 1.94 volts at the LED's all the time and the ground or negative is switched.? These isolators are available in single, 4 and 8 channel modules. They appear to be cheap enough so I'm going to order a 8 and attempt to mod it to trigger at a lower voltage.? The thought occurred to me that perhaps there's another option.? What about placing a cadmium light detector cell over each LED and read resistance?? Never done it but believe the versiport can do resistance.

Re: Crestron app, before I make a expensive mistake

The phone and iPad apps are different (Crestron Go tablet/iPad is likely what you have on you iPad)

Crestron app, before I make a expensive mistake

I have one iphone and 3 ipads, all on the same Apple account.? I had the three ipads connected and running the same free 2 page app.? I have a little fun project trying to monitor my generator that is not wifi enabled.? After creating the third page for the iphone, things went south. First I got the notice that to view the page I needed to do the upgrade.? I did that from the iphone and the upgrade flag at the bottom went away but the three tablets are still asking for the upgrade, showing the flag.? In settings on the ipad there is a place to "restore purchase".? I tapped on that but it appears to be asking for another $99.99.? Am I just to go through the motions here or will it grab another chunk of money?? Thats problem 1.
Next, I was tired of getting the message to enable authentication. So I did and lost connectivity with all the ipads and the phone.? I'm not sure if that caused the problem or setting up the mycrestron domain name that caused me to loose connectivity. I did them both at the same time.? I took them both away and still no connectivity. Prior to that, the free 2 pages was working perfectly from the 3 ipads.

Re: Missing 1 IR command head scratcher

Will do and let you know when it is done.
Appreciate the help.

Re: Missing 1 IR command head scratcher

Tried many different hold times, remote angle, turned off lights and put the learner on a black non-glare surface.

I'm wondering if it has a double code associated to the button. A press code and a hold code. Not common but wouldn't be the first time I've seen it.

Re: Using CP3-R relay and I/O resources in Pyng/OS2 programming

I have a few clients that run on the Pyng Hub and have no logical reason to update. Plus how would it be to tell them they need to update and then have gateway disconnect issues.

My understand is the first version of the CP4r and MC4r barely run OS4. I know there was a lot of talk about the CP3r not having enough horsepower and memory for OS3.

Re: CEC to Samsung displays via AM3200?

Hopefully this helps...
I have found with a lot of Samsungs, that.
When dealing with CEC, If you don't sent an Input Command (Even the same one you are on ), then the Power Commands don't work.

Missing 1 IR command head scratcher

Does anyone out there have the IR commands for a shaw XG15 "ignite" remote?
I have never had this happen before but after learning in all of the commands, "select" simply doesn't work.
I have learned it many times and it is successfully learned but doesn't work with the ignite box.
All other commands work flawlessly.
Anyone have an experience like this and a work around?

Re: Using CP3-R relay and I/O resources in Pyng/OS2 programming

That guess would earn a Bingo, Eric!
Unfortunately for Crestron dealers and service providers, it's not realistic to expect that a customer who has invested in a Pyng/Home OS2 system not so very many years ago would be keen to spend a bunch more so soon on a new processor, programming and (possibly) peripherals just to add relatively simple things such as gate or amp controls to their system.? I wish our true blue friends in New Jersey would consider creating a firmware update for the CP3-R that would permit migrating this platform to OS3 and/or OS4 Home.? I'm sure that many owners and dealers would be very willing to pay a reasonable fee (e.g. $500?) for that upgrade, and it might even win Crestron a more grateful and loyal customer base in the long run.? My tuppence, anyway...

Re: Using CP3-R relay and I/O resources in Pyng/OS2 programming

I'd be curious why you wouldn't just migrate the house from Pyng to Home on OS4 on the Cp3r and dump the pyng hub (at the only expense of a new gwexer maybe?)

You'd have MUCH better UX and processing power.?

Re: IR receiver to IR transmitter with DM-NVX

Edited

Thanks for this, yes, I see the way the IR signals could be detected in real time and send via RS-232. The question is, as you say, can these commands be received and retransmittted at the other end without external programming.

I'll contact Global Cache next week.

Thanks.

------------edit-----------
It just hit me that even if there could be another Golbal Cach¨¦ device as receiver, I would still need programming since the RS-232 ports on both DM-NVX devices need to talk to each other...

Oh well, thanks anyway.

Re: Newline touchscreen module

Testing an NT display with the module, I found that the feedback for power status wasn't what the display actually send. I modified the module with the actual observed feedback. Here's what I used:
Power ON:? \x7F\x09\x99\xA2\xB3\xC4\x02\xFF\x01\x37\x01\xCF
Power OFF: \x7F\x09\x99\xA2\xB3\xC4\x02\xFF\x01\x37\x00\xCF

Re: Pro2 compact flash question.

I have used larger ones just fine. I don't know about 64 though. I think the largest I used was a 32

Pro2 compact flash question.

I have a little smart graphics fun project that I'm trying to load onto a Pro2.? Getting a insufficient memory message when I try to load.? According to what I read, the memory slot on the back can handle up to a 4GB compact flash card.? Perhaps 15 years ago, 4GB might have been readily available but these days not so. Locally, the smallest available is 64GB.? What would happen if I install a larger one?? Only recognize it as 4GB or puke on it??

Re: DSP parametric EQ control #programming #values

NICE! That worked. I used a gesture canvas as a way to move around a parametric EQ. The Y axis controls gain and the X axis controls frequency. I made a S+ module that builds a string that looks like:? UberFilter2 set frequencyGain 3 {"frequency":442 "gain":0}\x0A
The problem is that it's very erratic. I'm watching it kinda jump all over in Tesira. I'm also seeing the gesture canvas analog values change when I spin a completely separate knob component with a different join number for some reason. A straight slider is better, but still responds slowly. I think this is all too overwhelming for my RMC3 and my old-gen iPad.?
