Re: NAX Traffic crushing network
So as I read and watch video.? It does seem that any switch that supports VLANs and IGMP should work in this small application. Since it is only 3 NAX units and no NVX.? It seems that they would co-exist fine on the flat network if IGMP was turn on, unless I am misunderstanding what I am reading.

Re: NAX Traffic crushing network
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe Unifi switches will not handle anything NVX or NAX.? Those switches will need to be replaced in order for the network to stay up. ? Pat M ? ? From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> on behalf of John Gabler <ComeAlive@...> ? OK, we have a take over site that we are partnering with the original integrator that lost his installer/programmer.? The system was designed around a SWAMP +2 expanders linked via fiber.? Due to the inability to get the extenders, they
upgraded to using 3 DM-NAX units on a flat network.? The house network is all unifi, accept for the router which is a Ubi edge router.? The issue that I am seeing, is like death by a 1000 cuts.? It doesn't show up initially, but when it does it will progressively
get worse.? The NAX starts crushing the broadcast traffic on the network, which in turn screws with otherwise stable peripherals.? Wifi speeds go in the tank, crestron peripherals, like the CAEN-BLOCK-CENCN2's show online but none of the CLX modules have net
lights.? Network printers stop working and other misc issues. |
Router vs Switches NVX system.
I am tasked with commissioning a large NVX/NAX deployment and lighting system in the next couple of weeks and we are still a ways out from receiving the spec'd router.? Just wondering for a temporary setup how important the router is?? Scenario is that I have 2 separately deployed flat networks, all extreme 54xx & 55xx switches. 1 aggregate and multiple switches for the data and WIFI and a mirror image setup for the DM NVX/NAX gear.? The only tie between the 2 networks will be the router.? All NAX units will have a connection to each network.? LAN1 for management/control and LAN2 for traffic.? NVX has a director that will also have connections to both networks while all NVX unit will be in the 2nd network.? The way I understand it, is that the important settings are in the switches.? Other then being the DHCP server and the ability to setup VLANS, is there anything special that I would need in a router?

Just wondering if it is the Unifi or if we were to VLAN for connection to the 2nd ethernet port on the NAX would fix the issue.? Thoughts, knowledge or suggestions.? This site is 4 hours away on the tip of a peninsula and I will be going back up to complete this week.? Just wondering if I should be bringing parts. |
Re: Adding numeric info to liquid gauge
The simple way in VTPro is to add a "formatted text" item and click on the three little dots on the "label" field. It will open another window when you can choose an analog join and the format in which the analog value is to be represented.
Just reuse the same join the liquid gauge has. You can also use a serial join and make something more complicated in Simpl, then transfer it in text format to the panel, but for 99% of the uses and the one you describe here, that shouldn't be needed. |
Launching a 3rd party app from the crestron go app
#crestronapp
I¡¯m trying to get the Crestron app to open other others on a clients phone, see link. I can get it to open websites on a browser and come back to the app via left hand return tab. I can¡¯t get it to launch another from the Crestron go app.?I¡¯ve built the code as per the article and try a few? URL schemes but they don¡¯t seem to open the corresponding apps. Eg ?calc:// didn¡¯t open the calculator. If I put http:www.crestron.com:// it opens the Crestron website. If I put http:www.google.com:// it opens google website both on the safari browser. I feel that I¡¯m missing something like prefix or suffix in the serial line. Any advise would be appreciated?? |
Adding numeric info to liquid gauge
Greetings- we have a video room where the programmer incorporated a liquid gauge to show projector settings (brightness level, for example). I am trying to figure out how to get a numeric display to show the actual projector setting underneath the bar so you don't, for example, have to adjust a parameter then turn on the projector menu to see that it is indeed at 50. I am willing to be humiliated by being pointed out the obvious and the easy, but would appreciate your feedback nonetheless.

Either way, we continue to hurdle towards increasing technical fragility...what could possibly go wrong??!!!? ?Yikes... |
Re: Alert! concerning the PC-350V power controllers
Yes, My initial tests show that things are good now...However, the nature of this issue (Floating Neutral, etc) is intermittent so I will report if any other problems occur. And of course I would hope that others will repot issues as well...
To be clear, this new firmware needs to be installed, AND you need to turn off 'FULL FAULT PROTECTION' in the web config/Settings. |
Re: Crestron Home BACnet HVAC
Thanks for the tips, I've been looking at other BNE, yabe reports fine with Coolinkbridge ID64 with firmware 0.3.4 but nothing with new devices we have 3 off with firmware 0.3.8, just noticed this difference.
It another hassle not needed with a new home and 3 HVAC system to get into Crestron Home. Looking for better solutions going forward. |
Re: Alert! concerning the PC-350V power controllers
Just a follow-up. Today I updated my PC-350V's with the latest/new FW to resolve (Hopefully!) the issue noted in this thread.
Obviously its too early to tell how things will go, but initial tests seem good. The one notable item was that when I updated the FW, the outlets DID NOT cycle, so that was a pleasant surprise!!! hopefully this is part of their design, as I HATE when PDUs cycle their outlets with updates... |
