Re: DIN-CENCN-2(-POE) anyone used it? I'm not impressed!

I've worked with three of them in the past. Never had an issue with USB. I seem to remember that it was DHCP out of the box. Have you pulled all the?devices off the unit and tried to connect?

I don't remember any issues connecting to it with USB.?

So first off some comments:

* Can't connect to it using USB even though the thing has a USB port on the front

* Can't find it using Toolbox device discovery on Ethernet (PC & gateway plugged into same switch)

* Can find it using Toolbox device discovery on USB but can't get any system info

* Had to find it in my router by looking up the MAC address

* Does have a web interface that you can connect to once you know the IP address and that is pretty good once you get that far.

* The Do Guide is frankly a joke. What ever happened to proper manuals?

Some concerns:

* No way to detect the gateway is online within Simpl Windows as it's not possible to add an Offline Manager

* My really big concern - After a program reset (new program loaded) the gateway resets and feedback to any keypads connected does not get updated. My program uses the ReportLightLevel input on the C2NI-CB's and lighting levels & scenes are stored in NVRAM. When the gateway comes back online none of the feedback LED's light on the keypads until they have been set low and then high again. Same with ReportLightLevel, if that signal is already high then I get no AmbientLightLevel update from the keypad until I drop & re-assert?ReportLightLevel. This is unacceptable.

* Cresnet device Poll Managers don't seem to work reliably - If the device is plugged in it never shows as offline after a progreset so I can't use that to update the status of FB & ReportLightLevel. If I unplug a device when the gateway is in a normal operational mode then Offline status is updated. If I ProgReset with the device offline & plug it back in while the system is restarting it still shows as offline even though I can use the device.

Regarding connecting via USB I get this info when connecting:

Could not connect to the device as specified by the address. No valid Communications channel available

Failure: RAPI init failed. ?Is ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center installed?

So does that error mean that I need to install ActiveSync or Windows Device Centre or that these are installed and are causing the issue? The message is ambiguous to say the least. As far as I'm aware I have neither of those installed. Also if I do need to install them then I ask why. We haven't had to use ActiveSync since the old MT-1000 days.

This is not an enterprise product!

Any comments welcome.

App Wont Download Project file on SSL

Got a Pro3 that is going to be exposed to the internet so I'm setting up SSL and AD authentication on it.

Got it connected to the domain and authentication is working normally. ?However when I connect an iPhone to it its telling me that the project file cannot be downloaded.

It was working fine before switching to SSL

I know the Crestron App is authenticating properly and the port numbers in the App match what is in the processor 443 for SSL and 41796 for SCIP.

Webserver is enabled.

Also I'm doing this internally for now so its not anything related to a firewall etc..?

Thanks!

Hello

I have struggle with clients complaining about MLX-3. I am not sure if you guys face the same issues. I have done many different types of GUI, trying to make user friendly but still getting complains.

Any other suggestion ?

Re: LG commercial LCD module with volume feedback

Looks like I have the following for ID 01:

kf\x20\x30\x31 0\r? for Zero no Volume (0)

and

kf\x20\x30\x31 66\r for Full Volume (66)

Re: LG commercial LCD module with volume feedback

I don't have one of these in front of me, but isn't the command for direct volume control "k f <ID> <VOL>"?? I think you have to the TV ID to a number and use that number to get feedback.? If I remember right it won't give feedback when you use the ID of 00 (all TVs) in your command.

You can then set a percentage of volume in hex from 00-64 like this (I'm using ID 01 for all TVs here):

5% volume = "k f 01 05\x0D"
12% volume = k f 01 0C\x0D"
100% = "k f 01 64\x0D"

You should be able to get the current volume with a "k f 01 FF\x0D" command.

You should see the following returns:

5% = "f 01 OK05x"
12% = "f 01 OK0Cx"
100% = "f 01 OK64x"

I hope that helps (and that it's correct!)

Re: INET-CBDEX-E w/ GWEXER ?

We've found that the site has a very high RF noise floor across all channels. ?I've shut down wifi and other known RF devices and still end up w/ a steady blast in the 40-50db range.

The security company has installed several UPB dimmers for timed lighting, a product which I haven't messed with in ages. ?Has anyone had RF issues in a shared environment of this type?

These are the dimmers in question: ?

Forwarding ports 23 and 80 on the router to Lutron¡that sounds like a very bad idea. Use a VPN, or the connect Bridge as Joe indicated.

You need to forward both ports 23 and 80 if not using Lutron's connect bridge

If you have a Lutron connect bridge, no port forwards are needed

Hi Ilya,
Did you manage to get the feedback from the LG sorted?

Does anyone happen to know of an LG rs232 module that has a working volume feedback for the current crop of LCD panels. The various modules available all work for control and basic feedback, but the volume fb ramp just sits at 0d. I checked the modules posted on the group and those didn't work for volume fb either. Anyone come across a module where this works? We are using the MB-P10 keypads in some rooms with these and actual volume fb would be nice for the ramp graphic above the knob. There isn't a way I know of to directly set volume on the tv at startup so I could make a simulated feedback, or to read current volume level in any format I know of. Curious if anyone found one that works. For reference the model we are using is an LG 55lw340c

Re: Crestron centralized lighting control

If the LEDs are dimmable, the 2DIM8 is fine. I have a house with over 250 LED loads and using 2DIM8 just fine. I set them up as Incandescent.?

The CLX-2DIM8 will dim LED's but the driver has to support forward phase dimming. We use CLX-1DIM8's and TCP fixtures in our office, and they play fine. The CLX-2DIMU8 will play with more LEDs as it uses reverse phase dimming, which is compatible many more load types.

The GLXX don't worry about as that is part of the protected commercial lighting line and you'll need to jump through a number of hoops that you wouldn't normally need to with normal Crestron product to get that product. Stay in the CLX line.

I done (successfully) numerous decentralized Crestron lighting control systems but never a centralized.

I've been brought in to assess an older?installed system from another manufacturer that is centralized.? It has issues - dimming LED lighting is one of them.

I thought this would be reasonably obvious - swap out old dimming modules for new Crestron modules.? The existing system has 3x in wall panels with 4x dimming modules in each panel.?After looking at the Crestron module choices I'm a little confused.?

It appears the CLX-2DIM8 will not dim LED loads.? The GLXX-2DIM8 appears to be the choice but I can't fit four of these into the existing panels.

I need some education on this.? I'll talk to TB tomorrow but was hoping to go into the talk with a little more knowledge.

Please educate me.

Thanks.

Re: Cisco SX20 Questions

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I haven¡¯t looked at the pinouts lately, but the Camera DB9 on the MXP codecs could also provide power to a Tandberg camera.

?

Wondering if someone connected oddly wired serial cable to the camera control port instead of the external control port (IIRC, they¡¯re right on top of each other) and that power was enough to make things very unhappy.

?

I¡¯ve never had an issue with serial control of any Tandberg/Cisco CODEC and I have multiple clients with dozens of serially-controlled SX80s each.

Not sure if the SX20 uses the same RS-232 circuitry as the SX80 but, we had TWO CP3Ns go up in a ball of flame trying to control SX80s via 232.

Sticking to Ethernet? for now.
