Re: Combinable / Divisible Rooms

Just do it. Make sure you get all your combined scenarios before you start. Get it from the customer, not the engineer. I've been told by engineers one thing with 5 rooms that had like 7 different combine modes, assignable ATC, hot plug and of course all scenarios except combine all were wrong. I was pissed. As long as you get your thoughts clear before you start you shouldn't have problems. If I remember correctly Lincoln makes the user shut down the system before combining, I've never done it this way.. I always make it so the user can select whatever mode whether the room is on or not. Just make sure to block the user out from pushing buttons while you do all the mode set up and you will be good. Users love pushing buttons when you are the middle of calling a preset in a dsp or something, or going no I would rather combine this way and the system hasn't even finished processing the first selection from 2 seconds ago.

Re: Combinable / Divisible Rooms

Searched Conference center and found this thread. Had no idea it would be this old but here goes.?

Neil, Lincoln, Chip,
I figure you're top on the div-space list code gurus, but anyone with experience of conference centers with all areas needing background music and combining rooms without any sensors at all, I could use a pep talk before I dive into this one on my plate at the moment. 7 areas, 6 7" panels, a few video zones, but for the most part all audio with input audio plates and mics all around. Crestron lighting and some 232 or relay controlled shades in some rooms too.

Thinking of using XP's.

Thinking of using dynamic lists.?

Since there are no sensors, I was wondering if you recommend I have only one panel capable of setup modes and not having that capability on all panels?

There will be one behind a receptionist's desk, but its designed to be a panel to control the pre-function space. Again, no wall sensors.\

I believe I need to create an XP for each zones individual zone controls and then one for each combination.?

Just unsure of the Devil's Spawn!

Thanks in advance for any/all insight,
Cyberbri

Re: Controllable Mixer

I know this thread is old, but BSS BLU works great with 3 series. I was only looking at this because I was searching RANE HAL and trying to find anything related that anyone can share as far as support, controls and if unsolicited feedback is available. The demo from from their site seems very basic and no real module other than a small S+ that ramps volume 1000 steps. Other than that, I am totally a newbie on this product and need to get caught up like yesterday.?

Anybody work with RAN HAL before and share horror or dream stories?

Thanks,
Cyber

In my download, Provider Sample 1 was cable, Provider sample 2 has only about 18 channels in it.

Isn't it one of the providers that come with the download?

Streaming H.264 HDHomeRun & Smartgraphics

Has anyone had any luck streaming an HDHomeRun from Silicondust into a smart graphics Embedded Video Object? ? ?I can see the stream at http://192.168.1.140:5004/auto/v8.1?in VLC and it shows the stream is H.264.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It turns out to have been a dying old Squeezebox on one of the inputs via a Kramer switch. It looks as if it was working properly but when I disconnected it from the switch, everything came back to life. I guess I need to check the switch as well¡..

Anyhow, thanks again.

If NOTHING has changed in the system then do as suggested.? Pull all the inputs and see if the noise is still there.? Then pull one output at a time.? If all else fails start looking at the amps power supply for swollen/leaking electrolytic capacitors.

Subject: [Crestron] c2n-amp-4x100 dead??

Yesterday everything was working just fine. I made no changes to any programs or configuration, but today I just get a buzz (medium pitched similar to one of those annoying scooters, varies with volume) out of all channels. I have tried the obvious, unplug from main, leave it a while, reload firmware, but no change. I can¡¯t even claim that it is tired and sh4gged out after a prolonged squawk, t¡¯s only ever been used for internet radio, some dinner music and such via ceiling speakers.?

Does anyone have any idea what else I might be able to try before I declare it demised??

You can do this with Mobotix cameras and the Mobotix app however I am not so sure about integration with the Crestron app, I know some programmers were able to get a TPMC-4SM-FD working with the Mobotix T24/T25 doorstation but not sure about the other models.

I'm not that familiar with the SWAMP, but have you checked if there is an option, either with toolbox or on the SIMPL symbol, to disable the amp power off? Seems to me this should be optional behavior and have a checkbox somewhere.

Hi Ross, thanks for the suggestion and this might work but I have no unused zones and I think if I implemented something like that the feedback is gonna show a zone as always being on the way most modules work, probably cause confusion.

Re: Help!!! Remote CP2E Processor locked up!

Very important rule to follow...Don't do anything remotely with a processor without at least one of the following two things put in place:

1- Have someone on site to immediately deal with a locked up or unreachable system.
2 - Let the client know that you will be connecting to the system and there is a chance that it will go done until you can get back out to the site.

I just tested this the past hour and my doorbell is working again but *only* if I add a 4.5 second delay before my Play Doorbell sequence, if I don't do this and all zones are OFF then I never hear the doorbell at all.

Basically when the interrupt is pulsed I guess its turning on the amp so all zones are ready however in the past the amp was in a state where it would play right away.

The revision history for the firmware says this?

Firmware?SWAMP24X8: v4.002.283411084

*** Revision History Build 1.39 November 6, 2015 ©\?added feature that turns amp off if all zones are turned off ©\?eliminated??erroneous start©\up messages ©\?corrected start©\up volumes higher thatn 50% in outputs 5©\8 ©\?added doorbell feature capabilities

Perhaps this new firmware they created makes things faster for doorbells IF you have at least one zone on but if not it slows down everything by at least 4 seconds.

Another example of how this slows things, I notice now when I turn on a room and choose a source such as AM/FM that it takes about 4 seconds for audio to be heard from this source IF all other zones are off, before I would choose AM/FM and it would turn on immediately and you hear the audio in about 1 second.

I'm pretty sure anybody using the interrupt feature will notice that announcements, doorbells, chimes etc may not work that same as they did before if they upgrade to this firmware, time will tell.

Re: Latest SWAMP firmware: Added doorbell feature capabilities

I tested this again, the CEN-TIA is connected to Cresnet and not?Ethernet and works fine but I believe the problem has to possibly do with the new firmware turning off the amp *power* when all zones are off, I don't think it did this before.

So now with the module I was using with an interrupt the *only* way it works now is I have to turn on a source in *any* zone and only then can I hear when the doorbell is pressed, I will test using a delay of say 4 seconds to give the amp time to power on.

I'm not sure how this firmware would speed up doorbells and the interrupt IF the amp now is powered off when all rooms are OFF, if this is the case I doubt it made things faster and in my case it broke something.

CEN-TIA I am using has work fine since 2009, was working fine just hours before the firmware was upgraded also.

SIP camera to IPAD app

I have a client who wants to put a camera in the kids playroom, and be able to view and talk TWO WAY to the kids in that room via Crestron App. ?There are no speakers in the room.

I was thinking a SIP cameras with audio might fit the bill. ?Anyone have any recommendations or pitfalls to avoid?
