Re: SW-VMK-WIN

OK - thanks, Tony.
Strange i didn?t get it to work.
I?m using now MCE and it seems to do the trick. EventGhost can do even more, but it?s also more complex and would be overkill for this job.

Cheers,
Thorsten

FYI, I used VMK-WIN on a couple of projects last year, with PCs running Windows 10. Although it worked okay for the simple functions I needed, MCE Controller and EventGhost looked a lot more flexible.

Yeah, i think it?s similar to EventGhost which i?ve used in the past.
I was just thinking using the Crestron tool would be easier to
interface as there are already drivers in SIMPL, but if the tool isn?t
working, that?s not helping.

@Chris
I?m not familiar with MCE, but EventGhost ()
is bidirectional and can trigger events to the outside world.

MCE Controller works really well:

Pair it with a TCP Client symbol in your SIMPL program and you're
good to
go.
I've been using it for years without any issues.

i need to control a Windows 10 PC from a Crestron touchpanel and
wanted to give the VMK-WIN a try. It installs fine and the
service is running, but it doesn?t seem to work correctly. For
instance the Crestron symbol that should appear in the system tray after reboot is missing.
Any ideas or is this tool just too old for Windows 10/11?
