Skipping Program Slots

Hi All,
Looking for others' opinions and experiences...
Because I try to take a modular approach to system programming, etc., and I have a few secondary programs that I use on occasion to support our MAIN program (always Slot 1), there are times for example when I have a project that uses only one of the secondary programs.
For a few reasons (not important for this discussion), I like to have each program dedicated to a particular slot.
EX: Sonos interface (Slot 2), Lighting Interpreter (Slot 3), Security Interface (Slot 4), etc. etc. you get the idea.

My question:
If I have a project that only needs a 'Lighting Interpreter' secondary program, I would still like to have it reside in Slot 3, leaving slot 2 and 4-10 open.
Does anyone think that there is any fundamental problem or issue with this approach...???

TIA!!
