Are you sure that was an EX-LINK display and not a MDC display? The EX-LINK protocol has no real feedback to speak of and the Crestron EX-LINK module doesn't do polling (IIRC, it doesn't even have an RX$/From_Display$ input). I'm using the EX-LINK module in the DB on two displays in my home as well as several (dozen) projects with no issues to note.

The Crestron MDC module on the other hand [last I looked/before rolling my own] is a pile of garbage that can do some "interesting" things when an unfixed version of it is paired with certain displays. (Including my favorite where polling for color settings would set everything to 0 and leave you with a beautiful Black and White image) MDC = Commercial Displays, usually has an In and an Out (labeled MDC, CONTROL, MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROL, or RS232) EX-LINK = Residential/Consumer displays - always in only (labeled EX-LINK); never an out. I had control issues because of the crestron module. The module is always polling the Samsung. Certain request were causing issues because the Samsung did not have a response for the poll in question. Crestron told me to go with an SIO instead of their module.
