Re: Control override funcionality

I guess it depends on what you're using for remotes/UIs, but no reason to get S+ involved.

Quick and easy:
Pass all STB controls on kids remote through a buffer (buf).
[enable] on the buffer is fed by the [out*] on a set-reset latch (sr).
On your remote provide a 'Disable' & 'Enable' button feeding the inputs of the (sr).
You may also want to use a buffer to jam the 'TV off' command with the 'Enable' button so that turning the EC off restores control to the kids remote.

Complete noobie here with hopefully an easy question.

I am trying to get a grasp on control override.I would like to be able to 'seize' a source in use by another room(aka son is using STB to watch cartoons and i want to watch ESPN)

Im studying the 'essential programming' course material trying to learn logic better but of course it doesnt get that far in with other functions.

Ive tried to make a SIMPL+ module modeled using the CH modules but i dont have Cross Compiler so it is a mute venture.

I have looked through several of programs that were sent to me but none use override.

Im probably getting too far ahead of myself but really would like to have some progress on my home system.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thank you.
