The deadline for nominating a finding aid for a 2023 award is fast approaching.? If you have one that you’re particularly proud of that was completed during the past 12 months I urge you to submit it using the link below. ?I’d love to see someone from the Capital Region win the award!

MARAC 2023 Finding Aids Award

The?Finding?Aids?Award?Committee invites nominations for the?MARAC?Finding?Aids?Award?by?December 31,?2023. The?Finding?Aids?Award?is given yearly to recognize outstanding achievement in the preparation of?finding?aids?by institutions within the?MARAC?region. The nominated?finding?aid must have been first made available to the public?between January 1 and December 31,?2023.?Reprocessed collections with significant revisions related to reparative description or complete reprocessing of legacy collections are also eligible.

Each submission should include the URL and a 1-2 page nomination letter (not to exceed 500 words) that addresses the?finding?aid's exceptional qualities and/or discusses elements not readily apparent from examination of the?finding?aid itself.? Submission guidelines can be found at?
