They will be sent to the saints in the Solomon Islands that want to do come follow me but don¡¯t have access to electronic or paper copies.

Thank you! I can pick up too.

Hegseth Update & Final Invite to Call Senator Curtis

Are you having trouble viewing this message?
?

We appreciate the time and attention you've already given to this issue, which is why we want to share an update with you.?

The Senate's vote to confirm Pete Hegseth has been delayed multiple times and there have been reports that three Republican Senators may oppose his confirmation, Sens. (R-Maine), (R-Alaska) and Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). If they do, a fourth Republican Senator's vote would still be needed to block his confirmation.

?

Although Senator John Curtis has not indicated that he has changed his mind about supporting Hegseth, have suggested that he and Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) could reconsider in light of the new allegations and sworn affidavit the Senate received earlier this week.

After reviewing the affidavit, U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI), the Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, issued the following yesterday:?

"As I have said for months, the reports of Mr. Hegseth's history of alleged sexual assault, alcohol abuse, and public misconduct necessitate an exhaustive background investigation. I have been concerned that the background check process has been inadequate, and this affidavit confirms that fact."

His t continued,

"This behavior would disqualify any service member from holding any leadership position in the military, much less being confirmed as the Secretary of Defense."

We want to share this information and invite you to consider calling Senator Curtis's office, again, to express your opinions.

If this request comes at a particularly busy or stressful time, please know there will be plenty of opportunities to advocate in the coming weeks. However, if you can spare a few minutes today, please use our phone calling . If you tap the phone icon ? ? ? it will auto generate the phone number for Senator Curtis, along with helpful tips and talking points.

Thank you for all your efforts and support,

Your MWEG Advocacy Team

Hello everyone!

I have been contemplating having a few ladies nights throughout the year this year.? It could be a craft night, social night, movie night, game night, or just sit and eat yummy treats night.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in being a part of this year, please text me at 801-830-0468.? In a few days, I will send out a text to everyone that responded and we can come up with a plan for the first night!

Thanks!

Book Group

Once again, thanks to Debbi for hosting and to Kimberly for the most delicious lemon tart!

Our next meeting will be February 6 which is only three and half weeks away! I apologize for the late email. However, the book is short (121 pages) and a very fun read!

We'll be discussing The UnSelected Journals of Emma M. Lion, Volume 1 by Beth Brower. It's only $7.99 on Amazon. Someone reported there's a wait list of 23 for the Orem Library copy, so that's probably not an option.

From Amazon:
¡°I¡¯ve arrived in London without incident. There are few triumphs in my recent life, but I count this as one. My existence of the last three years has been nothing but incident.¡±

The year is 1883 and Emma M. Lion has returned to her London neighborhood of St. Crispian¡¯s. But Emma¡¯s plans for a charmed and studious life are sabotaged by her eccentric Cousin Archibald, her formidable Aunt Eugenia, and the slightly odd denizens of St. Crispian¡¯s.

Emma M. Lion offers up her Unselected Journals, however self-incriminating they may be. Armed with wit and a sideways amusement, Emma documents the curious realities of her life at Lapis Lazuli House.

Readers have compared Beth Brower's writing to Jane Austen, Oscar Wilde, P.G. Wodehouse, and L. M. Montgomery.

House Cleaner

Hi all,

I just wanted to pass on some information. I wanted to recommend a house cleaner who does a great job. Her name is Wendy. I think Brenda Birrell originally recommended her to me. Anywho, she has openings and her prices are very reasonable. Her phone is (901) 236-1815. I hope you all have a great week.
