These are the reading for Sunday, 5/29 - the celebration of the Ascension of our Lord.

There are other readings for the "Seventh Sunday of Easter", but I think we are probably using the Ascension readings at Mass.

Re: Book study - Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World

It was great to hear everyone's thoughts about Chapters 1 and 2, last week!? We agreed to discuss 2 chapters of?Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World?every other week, so here's a schedule based on that idea.

May 24 - Chapters 3 & 4
June 7 - Chapters 5 & 6
June 21 - Chapters 7 & 8
July 5 - Chapters 9 & 10
July 19 - Chapters 11 and 12 (the end!)
Of course, we can adjust this as we go along!

Re: Readings for Sunday

Here are the readings for next Sunday, 5/22.? We'll discuss these at the meeting on Tuesday, 5/17 at 7:00pm at the parish office.

Book Club

Happy Mother¡¯s Day!

I¡¯m ready to begin our Book Club. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, June 8th, at 7:00pm in the parish office. The book for this month will be "The Bishop of the Abandoned Tabernacle" by Saint Manuel Gonzalez Garcia. It is a small book so I think it can be read prior to our first meeting. I would also encourage you to think of a book that we can read for our next session.
This book club will be a social group. If you want to bring something to share, it could be an appetizer or something to drink, they are all welcome.

See you on June 8th!

Kitty H.

Sunday Social

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I couldn't make the meeting last night - baseball season!? Anyway, the current plan for our 4th sunday outing is to go to 50West?Winery.? I am trying to get a reservation, so if for some reason I CANT?get one then I will provide an alternative location.? ? We will aim to hang out from 3-5.? They close at 6, so if you want to stay longer, I am sure that is fine.? It seems as if they have some food on site and that you are also allowed to bring your own food.? Hope to see ya'll there!

Book study - Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World

Happy Holy Week to everyone!??
First, I would just like to thank you all for being so welcoming to me. I'm very new to this group and have enjoyed our study of the readings and getting to know you!

We had discussed reading the book "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World" and discussing it after some of our times together on Tuesdays.? If you are interested in doing so, here's the link to the book on Amazon.??

I've read a couple chapters, and I find the author to be very approachable - it is kind of like talking to one of my friends.? I hope you will join us in reading this book!? I look forward to hearing all your thoughts on a topic that is so important and necessary for busy women!

We had a couple ideas about how to organize the book study.? One idea was to read the whole book and then discuss it.? Another idea was to read certain chapters and discuss them as we went along.? I'm happy to organize (or co-organize) this for us.? Please chime in if you are interested and which way you prefer to read the book.

Sincerely,
Susan Autry
