Running a 36V 3.5HP motor @ 48V
Hi All-? Currently working on a Citicar that has a 36V motor but a 48V charger. Were these models actually driven with 48V to the 36V motor? And I suppose that means I should be following the "48V model" diagrams from this service manual?? The car didn't come with batteries so I cannot tell from that unfortunately. See below for photos of the charger & motor plates: Thank you!? James - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |
Early ones were 36 volt and were changed by factory to 48 volt because of being too slow run as 48 volt

@Barton there were no batteries in the car when I bought it.?
Ok so what I’m hearing then is that it is OK to use 48V batteries even though it is a 36V motor, and it actually even came from the factory that way. Thanks all.? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

开云体育In my conversations with Bob back then, he commented more than once that the only change that was made with the conversion from 36 V to 48 V, was to add two extra batteries. It all comes down to how they were fit in under the seat.? ? ? Peter Crisitello 181 Villa Place Rahway, NJ?? 07065 -2831 ? ?
