From the pictures I think you got a pretty good deal.? It depends on your goals;? I would probably upgrade the charger to a more modern one such as the . When you buy your new batteries, this charger will take good care of them making them last a long time

Solid buy!!! No cracks in A-Pillar = well cared for/Garaged. Wiring harness might be original as most did look like a rats nest from factory. 4K miles is common for these. Congratulations, Welcome to the Club!!!…..Tyler

Battery Charger wonder if a frugal charger like this one would fit the bill? or save some $
same as this one showing two wire setup Negative and Positive....just cut the wire on first one to expose pos and neg.?
|
Although a 6 amp (about 288 watts) charger might work, it would be very slow compared to the more normal 25 amp (about 1,200 watts) original charger. Instead of a few hours to charge from near empty, it would take about 20 hours or more with only 6 amps.? Put another way, C-Cars use about 1kW to go four miles. With the 6 amp charger, you’d be charging at a rate of a bit over one mile per hour. With a 25 amp charger, you’d get a little under five miles per hour of charge.
Just some food for thought.? Tom Keenan

The only problem I can see is that the charger is rated at 6 amps.? The one installed by factory is 30 amps. So the downside is that it would longer to recharge batteries?

Correcting the units - should be 1 kWh (not kW) to go four miles.? Tom Keenan

I looked into those when I was purchasing a charger. I thought? with the amount that batteries cost, it was worth buying a good charger for them. I use the delta quik and am very happy with it. I'd buy the lester summit if I did it again though.?

The bluetooth is the cats meow. I'd love to take a look at my phone and see all the charging info. That's the big difference in my opinion.?

I've had 2. Both quit within a year.
At that time, the warrantee was 90
days. I see the auction says 3 year warrantee now so maybe it's
worth it.

Could you post some more detailed pictures of the old charger.? I'd to see if it might be repairable
Bart

What parts are available, maybe post some pictures?? I'd like to find a complete back window assembly with the hinges also maybe some switches Hub caps too

got more old charger pictures guessing this is a factory unit? 80 Comuta #1111B1C20AS000281 took close ups? thank you for the input

yes, it appears the guts have been removed. I wonder why someone would that :(
Bart
|
It should noted that you listed the 913-4800model. Be careful as that one can't always change to a charge pattern you want.? I use the 912-4800.

I have a Lester charger in a box in my garage, new as far as I remember. If you are interested, tomorrow I will have someone who can lift it take it out of the box and I can take another picture. Where are you? I am in Las Vegas. You can have the charger if you can come to get it or pay for shipping. It is heavy, would probably cost a lot to ship. Gail
