Blower motor

I killed my blower motor. I found a replacement that dropped in. It's a bilge fan for a boat 3" Dia. Seaflo brand. Shop around for about $30.

I did the same, is it wired directly to the motor heat sensor?
Tony

12v to fuse block, ground splits directly to both temp sensor (ground) and fan switch on dash (ground).

By chance do you know the part number to the sensor. The one on my car has the blade connector broken off. I plan to just solder the wire directly on.
Thanks
Tony

Looking at the Seaflo bilge pumps, they all seem to be physically the same size.
How much does the GPH matter, is more better?
?Thanks?

?

I want to imagine that the more airflow the better, however that also come at a cost of amp hours. I have found the normal flow one to be adequate under all conditions. I'll try and see what cfm the one I purchased was.

Have the 1100 GPH on order.
Will install this winter.
?Thanks again?

For clarity are you talkin about a gallon per hour pump when you're looking for air flow movement?I might be a bit lost but if you're looking for air flow across the electric motor you would be looking for a CFM fan. I personally use a Dayton 12 volt blower motor. Hooked up with a piece of flexible silicone tube to the d & d motor

Yes, I believe so.
Previously in this thread it was mentioned that someone else used a bilge pump.
Mine is making a rough sound so I thought I would give it a try.

Not a bilge pump. That is a water pump that pumps water out of the bilge. A bilge blower. This blower removes potentially explosive gas fumes from the bilge before attempting to crank the engine(s).

Optionally, the blower can be equipped with a Klixon-type thermostat so that the blower won't use battery power when it's not needed. Here is an example

This thermostat has selectable setpoints. 170 deg F would be appropriate.

I have indeed picked the wrong unit.
Fortunately, I can give the bilge pump to my friend and re-order the correct unit.
Inexpensive mistake, not my first.
