Re: Citicar for sale
It's in nice condition.? It would be helpful if you could tell us if the car has the original relay contractors or if a solid state controller was installed.? Likewise for the battery charger. Do

Re: Replacement motor, cooling
Great work! The contacts will last much longer with the Alltrax (compared to the stock contactor 3-speed setup) because they aren¡¯t typically switching at high currents, so not much arcing going

Re: Replacement motor, cooling
My contactor is in great shape and has been performing well since I rebuilt
the contact side. Eventually it will fail. It's old, even with new
contacts. It now only operates with the f/r switch, so

Re: Replacement motor, cooling
My contractor was good but the copper jumper on the contractor was my weak point. I did not scuff up the surface of the whole jumper, just the contact point. That was the problem, I forgot to clean

Re: Replacement motor, cooling
It's a class h motor, so it can get pretty hot safely. Like 180c. That's

Re: Replacement motor, cooling
I am pretty sure d&d says keep the motor temp below 220f. I know that all of their motors have the same rating. They give that temp with compensation for hot spots. So 220f is not a damaging

Re: Replacement motor, cooling
I was still nervous I was going to get too hot. The inlet was an easy
adaptation. 2x 1/4-20 holes tapped. And a few holes to allow airflow.

Re: Replacement motor, cooling
Hi Dave and All,? These EV motors run very hot to the touch which cooks at just 130F.? So if you can touch it without being burned, it is very good.Adding say a computer fan or 2 blowing air onto

Re: Replacement motor
And it works great! I took a 15 mile run and was flawless, but I think I'm
going to ass the cooling to it. Its warm-hot. Outside is still pretty cold
around here. Seems worth it for an hour or two
