I have some of my sketches but I don't think I have anything from the other students. I might have a few half frame kodachrome slides that would show some of them

BobHenry, I have a brake pedal assembly, I will sell. Price is $10.00 plus shipping. I can send a pic if you want. Are you looking to replace the master cylinder with a original single reservoir? or a newer double ?For a single, I have drilled hole in the filler cap, tapped it for quarter in. pipe , run a piece tygon tubing? up along the left side dash and capped it off with a fitting To accept a pipe plug. When low, I remove plug and fill with a funnel. The tygon lets me see how full it is. ?I have lots of spare parts from 3 citicars.

Mine is still missing the complete pedal and reseivor assembly so I really have troubles.? HOWEVER those of you having trouble bleeding the brakes might try gravity bleeding them. open the wheel bleed screws after filling the resivor and just leave them open the air will be forced out with the weight of the fluid. Keep an eye on the level if possible. It just might work for you.? P.S. anyone have an extra master cylinder and pedal assembly lying around

Best way I found is to use two people. The resivor is so small that you have to keep it toped off after 3 pumps of the brakes when flushing. Also put a old shirt around the

?bottom of it. I spilled fluid out of it while filling since your arm is in such a weird spot. Also I removed the driver door to make it a little easier to get to the resivor.

I have the same problem.? I replaced everything on all 4 wheels but I must have a bunch of air in the lines after trying to bleed them over and over.

Hi All,

?

When I bought my CCar, the brakes (while they worked) weren't good and I figured they could use some work. Here's what I've done so far:

?

  • Replaced the master cylinder. I did bench-bleed it.
  • (tried to) Rebuild the left rear brake cylinder. It was leaking, so I got it new rubber, honed it, and put it back together. It still leaks, but not as bad now... The internal metal piece was bent out of shape on the new rubber on the side that leaks (Still). I wonder if that it the cause of the leak.
  • I adjusted all the brakes, though I've never done it before. They worked much better afterwards (testing the car at 1-5MPH rolling).

Here's the problem--despite everything I've done, the brakes somehow manage to be worse than when I bought the car! Other than that leaking cylinder, I don't see anything wrong with the system. The pads and drums should be fine, the car has under 2K on it.

?

Anyone have any tips for how to get the brakes back to working condition?

?

(To give an idea of how bad they are: 10MPH, foot down to the floor, and the brakes do almost nothing. If I was on level ground, I might stop after 20-30 feet.)

?

Thanks in advance!

Hi All,

Someone mentioned that they had body panels available (NOS) in another thread, which made me remember this, but I didn't want to hijack the topic with my off-topic idea.

I've been wondering if the body panels were originally vacuum-formed. ABS softens a little above 105C (221F). In addition, the body panels don't seem to have any sharp edges--looking at them, they seem the ideal shapes for vacuum-forming.

Does anyone know if this was how the originals were made? Has anyone tried making a new panel this way?

Thanks!

Good to know. It seems that it wouldn't be hard to make a mold, so long as you had a good car you could use. Of course, there might be differences between the Citi and Comuta cars, and the Vans will be different too—but it could be done.?

I don't need body panels, luckily—but I've been curious about this for a while.

Super cool little cars, so, of course, folks are going to be proud of them and value them as such. That said,? there are two prices, what *you* think it's worth, and what the market deems appropriate. In all things, these numbers rarely align.

I saw a pristine yellow 1976 with 50 miles on it go for $2.5k just last year. That was a deal but should put things into perspective.?

Mine was 2k running with batteries included, alright shape. Not all orginal and not undamaged. The owner before bought it needing batteries and did not know if it was running but ran when parked for 800. I did not haggle the guy because he was helpful and pleasant for the transaction. I put 5k and about 400 hrs into a rebuild with modern everything and complete new wiring. So I am 7k in and my time. If I was going to sell I would probably get 4k and take a few months to sell it.?
From running into people, they love it, smile, want to sit in it, and look puzzled when they find out what they cost to make it reliable.?
It is a hard market to sell one of these.

While I haven’t had time to update the Price List in about a year, now; I rely on you the owners to let me know how much you sell or buy one for?!? I try to be as accurate as possible but a lot of those on eBay & Craigs List don’t sell for the asking price.? If you think my numbers are off, let me know what you paid or sold for and I will recalculate.?

I started this list after years of trying to get? Old Cars or any of the other Price Guides to include our C-Car’s but they just continue to ignore our unique little EV’s.?

Yeah, the price list is pretty accurate for a actual sold price. Mine is worth 15 grand, atleast to me..... insurence would say 4. ?

As a relatively new entrant into the C-Car world, I believe the price list posted is close to accurate. I have wanted a C-Car for years and kept a close eye on them on eBay and locally. The prices shown are close to what I was seeing in the wild, and within $100 of what I paid for my 1980 model just last year.?
