The Dana axle mounts the motor on the front of the axle, being towards the interior of the car. The cars with the Dana have a different designed battery box to fit the motor position. I also think the splines are different too.

Re: Replacement motor

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

My D&D motor was custom made from a stock citicar Terrell axle motor. They actually had 2 in stock. But mine was milled on the shaft side to vent and on the far side to allow a 2" hose for forced air cooling by a 12v blower motor. If I remember right it was 750 or so. I want to say the motor was 600 and the machining was 150. I would highly reccomend this. I can go the full 35 miles flat out in hills in summer, max temp was 185f. They don't have a concern till I believe 220f, so I can run the motor with no worry. Would highly recommend this if you have an alltrax and upgraded wiring. If anyone is interested I will post pics, and give you the sales number so D&D can make you one like mine. I had to have them make another head I put on to get the motor perfect. Might be able to save you some hassle if they can find my sales number since it was a custom job.?

Tony, I dont know all the answers. However there are some "newer" motors that may be sepex or ac that use 10 spline. It is a different 10 spline!

However,? many older carts took a 10 spline, on the Dana axle that will fit, but most were significantly less horsepower than ours like 2hp vs 6. I have a few more measurements to take for my quote sheet to d&d. I'll let you know what their price is. I might quote plum quick too, however I suspect d&d is the better option.? I'm expecting? a quote under $1000?but over 700? Maybe.?
