I am Gordon Dooley. In California. I have a comuta car and a citi car both updated with solid state controllers and new chargers. I have two tropica cars and a zebra tropica. I am done. All batteries dead. Too old to play anymore. Will sell for great prices. Like less than half what I put in them. Probably more tropica cars here than anywhere in the world. Retired. but it does actually increase all ccars value as what the highest one sells for is what future prices will be judged. Fact is ccars in great shape are under valued and likely will be collected more as time EVs rise and take over transportation. If I owned a good one I'd keep it original or at least keep the original parts or obtain them. Remember in it's day it was the most produced EV in multiple ways. I don't know, if the car is really that pristine it might be fun, the show, the parade circuit, etc. A museum piece? ?Remember, they ain't making more of them. ?Mine barely get used and are degrading just sitting there as they collect dust. ?7 grand is more than they have been going for but there are mighty few representative survivors left, and complete restorations are nearly impossible or at least not without some costly mold making. ?From a practicality standpoint, technology has improved a lot since then, the same equipment could be a lot better if they were made today. ?

Ac12 on an 81 comutacar
As far as I know our Comutacars use the same hard to connect reverse 16 spline 13/16” female drive as the Citicar
I would love to hook up a standard 7/8” keyed AC12 motor in place of the behemoths under my car today. Are there any places that won’t bankrupt you that can make a love joy and adapter plate to mate these nonsensically incompatible shaft to spline combinations? |

It is up to the people like us to support events and clubs. Without the support from the enthusiast there is no incentive for clubs or shows so they disappear. The big loser is us, the people looking for information on our cars. So bring your unique little car to the show.? A lot of people do think there project will not be interesting enough to bring to shows. The projects usually draw the most people.
