I agree, what's the point of a gas burner? ?Over 20 mph is really a rough ride, I think one might need to completely redesign the suspension for greater velocity.? FYI I only ever got around 24 mpc

I'd look into swapping the whole rear axle and drivetrain from a golf cart first. It may prove less complicated and cheaper than making anything else fit.

Best advice is buy a car with a gas engine already installed. If you do this to a Citi Car you will have lost more than you gain. Driving quality is sorely compromised with speed. Just
