CLAWS mail, POPing mail, multiple clients and unread mail
Hi, How do others deal with the "Unread mail" generated by housekeeping in these scenarios? Since I am using CLAWS mail, having the system report mail is unread in X days is not really accurate tho housekeeping is convinced so. As so POP does not have an ability to mark mail read, only delete. However that is kind of defeating if you read mail on many machines with something like a POP mail reader like claws/thunderbird. So I tried to set the unread timer to 0, it just generates has not read mail. I guess I can put something outrageous at 9999 days or something but then it'll effect things more globally than just my user. PS I do read my mail, despite the system lying on me. :D -k |
Re: need sample of Radio port using Channel command
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýActually it can be either case but there is a bug in the code and it won't work without a TNC Mode parameter (eg P1 or VN). I'll fix it but the mean time it should work with a dummy Mode TNC Mode command, eg Z??????????? 5,CHAN70,Z

Re: BPQ - VARA
Try this....
?
Install Vara into a separate directory.
Use different ports in the Vara configuuration.
Create a new Vara Port.
In that port start the second instance of Vara.
You will need to include the valid calls for each port in the BPQ Vara configuration (for both ports.)
?
Never tried it.? It might work.? The key is to tell bpq which calls are valid for each port.

LinBPQ Winlink error message
Hello folks;
I inherited the sysop duties from a SK. The system is operating on a Linux computer with packet only. I noticed that when I start LinBPQ I receive a message that says:
?
WL2K Traffic Reporting disabled - Gateway WA9C-10 does not have a Winlink Account
WL2K Reporting disabled - Gateway WA9C does not have a Winlink Account
?
I have logged into Winlink and the call is there. The WA9C-10 node is not showing up on the Channel Selection but the system is processing messages fine.
?
I'm a bit new to the Sysop game so any assistance would be appreciated.
?
Thanks
Dave WB9YIG (WA9C sysop)

??? Yes, our testing today shows only 5 total. It looks like the first 4 applications are used along with the node call.? What with Appl 1 being mandatory for the bbs leaves appl 2, 3 and 4 that can be used. ??? I rearranged the appl numbers to have RMS, RMS1 and RMS2 available for VARA connects. For RMS3 one has to connect to the node and enter RMS3. Thanks Again 73 John?? wb4moz On 2/28/2025 2:29 AM, John G8BPQ via groups.io wrote:
The VARA TNC? only supports listening for up to 5 callsigns. I'm a bit surprised you got 6 to work. VARA displays the calls it is listening for on the title bar. |

The TCP-MASTER goes on the node that you have no real control over. WW2BSA-5
TCP-MASTER goes in WW2BSA-5 and TCP-SLAVE goes in WW2BSA-7
?
You will nedd to port forward port 10200, protocol TCP at WW2BSA-7

As long as you are scanning it will switch between data and not.
?
And John mentioned PTT_SETS_INPUT.? On my install I need that because I have both Pactor and Vara ports.? Do you have any hardware TNC ports?? If not you should be able to use PTT CAT or PTT CI-V instead and it may minimize or eliminate switching between modes like that.? In the end, whatever works for you...
