The original NETROM was an eprom for the TNC2 that was sold by Software 2000 ( if I remember correctly). As far as I know it is no longer available. TheNet was an (allegedly illegal) copy. Not sure

I don't think so.? It will just take a while for the change to be reflected on APRS.? I don't know what their update timers are.
