Re: Telenet Port
Thomas
?
You must use a Telnet Client to connect to the BPQ Telnet Port to test it.
?
Once you have an application that uses the telnet port (http, CMS, etc) it too can help prove your telnet port works.
?
If you tell us what exactly you are trying to do we can help you better.? You cannot really expect you to have a fully configured node working the way you want without following logical steps and proving each step works before moving on and building up to the final configuration.? Maybe I'm not the one to help you here. |
Re: Telenet Port
Mark yes?I did try contacting to the Telenet server from??the Terminal program. I also tried from the Chat App and the console with no success. You did mention in an earlier message I could connect to the server through the consul..It¡¯s just a bit frustrating because I want the NODE to work a certain way before I make it operational.

Re: Sysop Pages
I forgot again, that it was a 32bit version. When I made the VM I made it 64Bit. That is why it could not find the file. Man I am rusty. Actually if you want I can place the 64bit on my website. I am going to be putting my linux version of TermTCP back on there and my github.
?
Umm, Somehow I lost the mail. I have all the messages. Is there on way I can reload them in to the software?
?
John, This is the same config I was using when I started TermTCP. If that gives you an idea how much stuff I had to clean out. |
Re: Telenet Port
Now, having said that.... you did use the BPQ Terminal to connect to chat.? You just need to identify yourself properly using the /N command.? Because of the slight error in your attempts it entered your name as a /b
?

Mark
?
?
Also, your chat program has it's own console.? On the Chat program UI select the Windows menu item, then Chat Console.

Re: Telenet Port
It looks like you are trying to connect to your telnet port from a BPQ terminal window.? That is not going to work, or at least it does not work when I do the same with my well configured install.? Telnet port is for connections from other than BPQ.
?
For example, if you have a Telnet client installed in Windows, start that client and connect using that client to your BPQ machine's IP address using port 8010.? You should then see the telnet prompt in your config:
?

?
?
Windows has a telnet client that you have to activate but it is easier to use something like PuTTY.? It has both telnet and ssh client connection protocols.

Sysop Pages
John,
?
I am getting back in this again. LOL! I have a couple HF Radios setup. Going to get VARA and/or ARDOP running. Anyways, I have a problem. I downloaded the source, because I can not get the precompiled to work. It says file not found. So it has been running for is the last update. I think was August the last time I updated.
?
So the directory is still CommonSource and I created the HTML directory. Install the HTML pages zip in there. You can see it is doing something with the directory. The background will change colors. I am not getting any of the sysop functions one I login. I can get to Terminal. but no chat config nor bbs config. I need to edit a couple users to BBS. Clint has a new call and need to change his access level.
?
The photo attached is me logged in as sysop. It was working months ago. What has I done wrong? |
Re: Telenet Port
There is no installer for a minor update.?? To update locate the Mail and Chat programs, and the bpq32.dll at ? and just drop them in the appropriate folders replacing the existing same named files.
?
?
You do need to resolve the errors in your startup. While many will cause no harm you really need to resolve them to be sure there is no fatal error.
?
Chat does not rely on the Telnet port so just do not start chat for now.? I see that it is running, but you get the message, but if it not configured it will not allow access.? You probably need to configure the chat application and add an APPLICATIONS statement for it to work.
?
Remove the quality statement, and the relayapp statement, and change your sessions to about 4-5.? You do not need 15 sessions.
?
Restart the BPQ Console app only. Telnet into your node.?? Your telnet port will probably work. Navigate through your node commands to prove your telnet port works.
?
?
It may just be that you are unable to access Chat via telnet.? Start your chat program and look through the configuration. The Chat Appl Number refers to the APPLICATIONS command in your bpq32.cfg file.? They must match. So, if you cannot get it to work lets see theapplications lines and the chat configurations screen.
?
?
Then lets see the window with the title BPQ32.dll Console Version 6.0.24.1
Any one of those errors may cause your problems.?

Re: Telenet Port
You are showing a LOT of errors in your config file.? Perhaps it would be best if you posted your entire bpq32.cfg (less personal/passwords) file together with your expectations of what you want BPQ to provide.
?
Before you do anything you should probably update to the latest version, 6.0.24.45 at least. |
