Mike:

I changed back my MAXNODES to 550, and this is what I got:

COSCO:KE0GB-7}

L4 Frames TX/RX/Resent/Reseq 137 131 1 0

L3 Frames Relayed 51

c 4 wb4qoj-7

COSCO:KE0GB-7} Sorry - System Tables Full

Here are the parameters on my AX/IP/UDP port:

---------------NETROM NODES PARAMETERS---------------------------------------

; Network System Parameters:

OBSINIT=6 ; Initial obsolescence set when a node is included

; in a received nodes broadcast. This value is then

; decremented by 1 every NODESINTERVAL.

OBSMIN=4 ; When the obsolescence of a node falls below this

; value that node's information is not included in

; a subsequent nodes broadcast.

NODESINTERVAL=20 ; Nodes broadcast interval in minutes

IDINTERVAL=15 ; 'IDMSG' UI broadcast interval in minutes, 0=OFF

BTINTERVAL=30 ; The BTEXT broadcast interval in minutes, 0=OFF

L3TIMETOLIVE=30 ; Max L3 hops

L4RETRIES=3 ; Level 4 retry count

L4TIMEOUT=60 ; Level 4 timeout in seconds s/b > FRACK x RETRIES

L4DELAY=10 ; Level 4 delayed ack timer in seconds

L4WINDOW=4 ; Level 4 window size

MAXLINKS=63 ; Max level 2 links

MAXNODES=550 ; Max nodes in nodes table

MAXROUTES=64 ; Max qual adjacent nodes

MAXCIRCUITS=128 ; Max L4 nodes

MINQUAL=144 ; Minimum quality to add to nodes table

MAXHOPS=6 ; INP3 hop limit to add to tables

MAXRTT=90 ; INP3 max RTT in seconds

BUFFERS=130 ; Packet Buffers = 255 means allocate as many as possible,

Still giving me that darned System Tables Full error.

Yep,
I was experimenting with the MAXNODES setting and set it to 350 as a test,
and forgot to put it back to it's usual 550.? Thanks for pointing it out, Mike.

Re: Sorry - System Tables Full.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Rick
?
System Tables Full is usually a indication the Known Nodes/Max Nodes are equal, using BPQ terminal
the S command then compare the Known Nodes/Max Nodes, you may have to increase the MAXNODES=
in the Global section of bpq32.cfg.
?
You can also lower the number of MAXROUTES= after much experimenting with Port QUALITY and MINQUAL
I have found Port Quality for AXIP best at 192 MINQUAL 144 I have my MAXNODES at 550.
?
On RF Ports you may want to increase MINQUAL to 191 or 192 keep in mind your partners that? have HF
and band openings will send more/less depending on the band.
?
The other way would be to lock routes of nodes sending very high routes to you, I have seen you routes sent to me
climb up very high, so just keep an eye on the Status, it is easy to have your node tables become flooded.
?
You should try to keep your
OBSINIT=6???
OBSMIN=4 as shown, they will make a big difference in the number of nodes & Routes received.
?
You should also update to the latest up available for your version of BPQ.

Sorry - System Tables Full.

Richard Hendricks

Since updating to 16.0.21, I've been experiencing an occasional "Sorry - System Tables Full,
followed by a restart.? Looking in /var/log/syslog, I see a "Segmentation Fault", causing the
restart.? I've made sure my Streams in both the BBS Main Configuration and Chat Configuration
are set to 10 and no higher.? Buffers appear to be normal on the "Status" response.

I'm at a loss on this one.

Any ideas?

Re: Problems with New Install of RMS Gateway using linbpq

The duplicate telnet port was a result of my clumsy fingers and failing to read what I had said prior to submitting. The ctrl-m is what happens when one takes something created on windoze and copies it to a linux system. Such a pain. But they do not hurt anything - they just look dumb.

The solution to my problem was to get linbpq 6.0.21..1 and remove 6.0.21.21 using the same bpq32.cfg in both instances.

I have a copy of 6.0.21.1 saved away in several places so I don't have this problem again. Revision 6.0.21.1 works just fine.

This may be a holdover from many prior versions, and I use Windows, but...

I have always had a user named RMS that was marked as a BBS, and whose forwarding script was the single word RMS.

Has always worked, but I'm not sure it is still needed, or was ever needed on linux flavors...

Re: New Beta versions

We have run into issues with the VARA TNC restarting after a failed connect attempt.

One of our SYSOPS reported getting strange errors at random when attempting connects to weak BBS's. His TNC restarted every time there was a failed connection. He has PAUSE 5 after his else and would get the errors that locked up the system during his connection script.

I did not have the restart option check so I have not had any problems. I checked it here to see what would happen. With my PAUSE after the ELSE set to 4, it would skip over the next channel with a TNC not ready ERROR then proceed to the next channel.

It appears the VARA TNC takes a bit of time to reset once restarted.

If you need the VARA TNC to restart, I recommend sufficient time in the PAUSE command after the ELSE before the next ATTACH to let the VARA TNC to completely settle down.

It appears that none of your permissions are showing executable.? I use Midnight Commander to do this.
First, install Midnight Commander:? apt install mc
change to the subdir you have QtTermTCP in using cd command.
launch mc
highlight QtTermTCP, enter F9 to activate the upper menu.
Use arrow keys to navigate to "File"
Drop down menu to "Chmod" and hit enter.
In the Chmod Command screen, scroll down and tap space bar on all "execute" levels.
(Execute/Search by Owner, Execute/Search by Group, and Execute/Search by others)
Check permissions on right side of Chmod Command screen, should be:? 100755
Drop down to "Save".
QtTermTCP should now show with an asterisk * on the left of the filename.
Press f10 to exit mc.
Try to launch QtTermTCP

Should fix it.
