It certainly is curious that there are no casting numbers, but that is an exact copy of the Atlas 10" lathe steady rest # 10-325A Illustration from 1941 Atlas catalog:
For what it’s worth, my Atlas 10” steady rest has part numbers 10-326B cast in the bottom and 10-326T cast in the top. Also shown is the 1” high riser block I made to use this steady on my Atlas 12” Commercial lathe.
It also appears curious that the 1941 catalog photo shows a steady rest with no cast in casting numbers??? ?Perhaps the early versions did not have the casting numbers ?
