Hello everyone, finally got a shaper.? Been looking for a couple years and they seem scarce around here in SoCal.??
Missing the usual.? Side door cover, both belt guards and motor.
I noticed today the bevel gear is broke in two that goes horizontal to adjust ram position.??
Happy with the find and am slowly cleaning.? Glad I found this group because I am sure I will have questions.
It came with a 1/2 horse motor, seems like someone's project that never was finished.? ?
I think my main concern right now while I clean is figuring out a vise that will work out well.??
The belt guards and cover are superficial but of course I want them eventually.??
Thanks for letting me join.? I have several other vintage machines but this is my first shaper.? I am glad they have a good following compared to my other more rare machines.??
