NanoVNA - cheap VNA on banggood

I'm not in the market for anything factory built right now but this is interesting for under $60.

Features:?
?
Touchston'e (snp) files can be exported via PC-side software for a variety of radio design and simulation software. The improved frequency algorithm can use the odd harmonic extension of si5351 to support the measurement frequency up to 900MHz. The metal shield is designed to reduce the external interference and improve the measurement accuracy. The 50535-300MHz frequency range of the si5351 direct output provides better than 70dB dynamic. The extended 300M-600MHz band provides better than 60dB of dynamics, and the 600M-900M band is better than 50dB of dynamics.
?
This is a DIY product, vector network measurement function. It includes a 2.8-inch touch screen, TX/RX measurement, can determine the complete S11 and S21 parameters, if you need to get S12 and S22, you need to manually replace the transceiver port wiring.?
?
Basic performance:
?
¡ñ PCB: 54mm x 85.5mm x 11mm (without connectors, switches)
¡ñ Measurement frequency: 50KHz ~ 300MHz (50KHz -900MHz, enable extended firmware)(the products will be?updated with the latest firmware before shipping,the actual measurement frequency is?50KHz -900MHz)
¡ñ RF output: -13dbm (maximum -9dbm)
¡ñ Measurement range: 70dB (50kHz-300MHz), 60dB (300M-600MHz), 50dB (600M-900MHz) enable extended firmware);
¡ñ Port SWR: < 1.1
¡ñ Display: 2.8 inch TFT (320 x240)
¡ñ USB interface: USB type-C communication mode: CDC (serial)
¡ñ Power: USB 5V 120mA, can use battery powered, maximum charging current 0.8A (battery Not included )
¡ñ Number of scanning points: 101 (fixed)
¡ñ Display Tracking: 4, Marking: 4, Setting Save: 5
?
?
Package Includes:?
?
1x NanoVNA host
1x USB Type-C data cable
2x 30mm SMA male to male cable
1x SMA female to female connector

Downside is the pre-order requirement. Processing time: Expected on June 29, 2019.

Another downside is that some of the documentation is in Chinese and the English user guide appears to be a decent but not perfect translation.

Still, it's a lot of function for $58.

Interesting - when this was first posted, there was no English documentation. Now that there is at least some "rough" documentation, it's worth taking ?second look. Thanks for making me look again :)

I just found one on AliExpress and ordered it.? ?It'll take a while to get here, but couldn't resist the $40.99 price tag.

Walter, be sure to let us know how it works for you!

I ordered one last nite too. There was also a coupon there to get an extra $1 off, so I got it for $39.99.

The limitation is you have to be a winders user...?

FOr the Mac OS10 or Linux people the python code maybe useful
and maybe the rest in a virtual emulation box.? That makes it less appealing.

My spectrum analyzer was like that, windoze only and to top it you had to buy the program if you wanted to use it to change the span, center, etc. To make it even worse, it wasn't even a good program, really cludgy. I'm rolling my own, it'd be finished if php-gui could draw a line instead of only set a dot, so I'm writing it in C.
