Frequency Manager+Scanner

I managed to get my new RTL-SDR working with SDR#.
My problem is now the frequency Manager+ scanner plugin isn't working, I get SQL lite error then SDR# crashes. I'm not sure what to do now, the videos I watched didn't help.

Hi Ryan,

What version of SDRSharp are you using?? Also, what version of the Frequency Manager + Scanner are you using?? Are you using the latest version of the plugin from theWraith, who updated Vasili's older plugin?

Although theWraith's updated plugin from Aug-2024 worked fine with SDRSharp version 1920 and earlier, it hasn't been updated to work with Version 1921.? Therefore, if you are using V1921, that plugin won't work.? Hopefully it will be updated sometime in the near future to support the newer dotnet8 and dotnet9 versions of SDRSharp.? Otherwise, you can roll back to using SDRSharp V1920 and the plugin will work.

Have a good day and good DXing.

1921 introduces dotnet 9 and x64, thus you get 4 possible combinations. The dotnet8 32bit build should work with legacy plugins without any updates.
I encourage all the plugin developers to target "AnyCPU" and load the right native dlls, if any. Dotnet 9 is basically the same as dotnet 8, except for some obsolete (and unsafe) classes, like the BinaryFormatter used in many old plugins. Just retargeting and building should be enough without any code change.?

Good morning, I am using SDR# studio v1.0.01921, dotnet 9 but using Frequency Manager Suite from freqmgrsuite.com, not the variations you have listed Vasili or The Wraith, I didn't see those when I was looking.

Hello again, Ryan,

I just checked the Frequency Manager Suite website () and it looks like Jeff Knapp released a new update to the plugin on 05-Mar-2025 that now supports SDRSharp Version 1921.? Jeff states the program works with the dotnet9 executable of SDRSharp.??

Hopefully this will give a success path.? Good luck.

Well that is what I am using and it doesn't work.

Hi Ryan.? I'm the author of FMSuite. Firstly, can you provide the exact error message for me?? Secondly, make sure you didn't delete the x86 or x64 folders inside the FMSuite folder.? Lastly, make sure you are matching the version of SDR# 1921 (e.g. "SDRSharp.dotnet9.exe") with the Windows .NET runtime library for .NET 9.0.
?
Regards,
Jeff

Jeff, I sent the screenshots to your sdrsuite email address, I am at work now and don't have access to my laptop. I do have the dotnet 9 version and have installed dotnet 9 yesterday.

I had those same errors with a fresh sdr# 1921

Hi Ryan, thanks for the info.? I found a bug in the database connector and have uploaded a new version of 2.3.5.? Please download it from and use that new version.? I apologize for the issue, and thank you for using my software.

Hi Michael.? There was a bug in FMSuite that prevented connection to a database.? Please download a revised v2.3.5 from and use that instead.? I apologize for any trouble and thank you for using my software.

Thanks a bunch, Jeff, I will try it.

Hi Jeff,
I just downloaded the last 2.3.5 FMSuite to run in SDRSharp.dotnet8 v.1922 beta X86 which I use for compatibility with other plugins.
Indeed it don’t load and signal an error on the popup windows I attach.
Ditto for SDRSharp.dotnet8 v.1921 X86

Using SDRSharp.dotnet9 X86 run flawlessly either on 1921 and 1922

Hope This Help
Roberto

The updated version works ok but now I have a new question. I entered some of my aircraft frequencies, about 12 channels, and as I watched the frequency display only a portion of them appeared to be scanned maybe half. Is this typical behavior?
Out of curiosity, I looked at the scanner rules dialog and I read that 126.875, was scanned but not active.
I really want this to work going forward.

A smart scanner would only change front end frequencies when needed. Ideally it would sort the frequencies into batches that fit within the usable portion of the front end's bandwidth given its sample rate. Is this what you are seeing?

It sorted them numerically 112xxx,119xxx up until 126.325 about 6 freqs, then starts over. I'm a rookie with this stuff. I'm learning as I go.
