As a contest logger developer I would like to question the use of unique ID for the same contest run?
several times a year.?

If these names are expected to be used by online scoreboards and?for contest log submission in?Cabrillo format,?
having names like -JULY or -WINTER is too much trouble and will not be honored.?

As an example, the "official" contest IDs for ARRL VHF January, June and September are ARRL-VHF-JAN,?
ARRL-VHF-JUN, and ARRL-VHF-SEP as shown ?and but this is ignored by all major contest loggers?
(such as N1MM and DXLog) which use just ARRL-VHF as can be seen ?because?no contest logger developer?
wants to maintain, let alone litter their code with, three almost identical copies of the same contest definition?
(which is typically written in a meta language).?

Hello,

if it would be better to reduce the IDs by removing the months? this is no problem. As the IDs as a creation of my person, and I oriented myself on existing definitions,? I am the one to modify this.

I can follow the arguments and therefore I would change the request to a simple: take the list as is, but remove the months.
