His career was formerly on the sell side in both trading and marketing equity and commodities derivatives, including three years as a floor trader in equity options on the American Stock Exchange, managing a diverse book of derivatives on individual equities. Later he specialized in commodity derivatives as both a marketer and structurer for firms such as Chase, Societe Generale, and Kidder Peabody. In these roles he devised derivative structures in crude oil, products, and natural gas, and assembled financing packages for energy-production and transportation projects. Mike also spent time as a risk-management professional for a major utility during the initial deregulation of the US electricity market. Currently, he is a Principal with Tecumseh Alternatives involved with sourcing and due diligence of new strategies, along with working on all aspects of the business. Prior to this, he was Head of US for DNA Partners, where he was responsible for sourcing and due diligence of US based hedge funds. He was also Head of Research and Risk Management at Lanx Management, and prior to that, he was Head of Portfolio Management in the US for the Hedge Funds Group at Credit Suisse where he managed $6 Billion in portfolios. Michael started out his hedge fund career at TAG Associates, a multiclient family office, as portfolio manager for their relative value and diversified strategy fund of funds. Over 3.5 million older adults become victims of financial exploitation annually and suffer an average loss of over $34,000. Scammers target people of any age, but those over 60 are more vulnerable, and victims over 80 likely to suffer even higher losses. This could be you or an elderly family member As investors, we tend to focus on investment risks such as market downturns, the banking system, etc. However, there are equally important risks to understand and address in order to protect our assets and those of people we love.
