I just joined the group & wanted to say hello to everyone.
I was introduced to Atlas N scale in 1969 by my mother, who had seen
train sets at the local hobby shop.
As a school age boy, I didn't have room for much of a place to put my
trains except the top of my desk, so thanks to my mother, I had found
the answer. I mowed lawns & purchased my first Atlas train set for
$19.95, it was a C&NW E8, 2 cars, caboose, oval of track, &
transformer. And from there was the great beginnings of adventures in
N scale.
Today, my interests include;
1)Restoring Atlas steam locos & diesel locos back to running order,
2)Collecting old Atlas cars,
3)Collecting old Atlas catalogs,
4)Collecting old Atlas repair manuals, &
5)Sharing any info with other folks that love those Atlas trains.
I'd like to hear from some of the members who have an interest in
loco repair, I'm working on 2 0-8-0 steam locos at this time & also 3
E8 diesels.
Sorry I got so long winded, I was just excited to find this group.
Let me hear from some of you.
Happy Railroading;
