Welcome to Groups.io, our new home for genealogical discussions. This is an
exciting time with a very impressive website and the opportunity to rekindle
our communications and, perhaps, revive research that has been set aside for
a time.

Diane and I want to encourage you to make us of this group with your brick
walls, successes, questions and whatever answers you may have for others'
queries. To begin with, introductions are encouraged, including some
history about yourself etc. If we can feel like a "family" we might get
more out of being here. We definitely do not want to make this such a strict
environment that you are discouraged from entering or starting discussions.

We want you to enjoy being a part of this group and be glad you joined in

First of all,
To all of you who are involved in the "front lines" of this corona virus war
- Thank You for all you are doing. Without you we would be in dire straits.

Secondly,

Diane and I thought it would be a good thing to share what is happening in
your locations as far as showing appreciation to everyone involved in
fighting the spread of this horrendous pandemic that has plagued the world.

Please feel free to share what your community is doing in that regard. We
have all seen the firefighters gathered to applaud the health workers.
Diane says that she and her neighbors stand outside their doors and clap for
the health workers. She suggests singing (to the tune of "Happy Birthday")

I've recovered two original birth announcements belonging to the ZIMMER Family.??The first is one for a Baby Girl born to Mr. & Mrs. H. J. ZIMMER on 22 May 1910 at 11o'clock and the baby weighing 10 lbs.??The announcement was sent from Rochester, NY on 25 May 1910 to Mrs. Lemans FISHER in Clifton Springs, NY and is signed by "Henry".??I believe that this celebrates the birth of Mildred ZIMMER born to Henry & Laura ZIMMER.? The second announcement also announces the birth of a Baby Girl, this one on 18 Jul 1910 at 4 o'clock and weighing 10 ? lbs. to Mr. & Mrs. J. ZIMMER of Colorado.??This announcement was sent from Rochester, NY on 27 Jul 1910 to Mrs. Leonard FISHER in Clifton Springs, NY and is signed by "Rose".??I believe that this document is announcing the birth of Eleanor Rose ZIMMER daughter of John J. ZIMMER and Mabel JORDAN.

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family:

Mildred R. ZIMMER was b. 1910 in Verona or Rochester, NY to parents Henry Joseph ZIMMER (1878-1961) and Laura Jewett RAUBER (1885-1962).? Mildred had one sibling, a brother Paul W. ZIMMER (b. 1898).? Mildred married Arthur Albert BORLEN (1909-1972) and the couple had a daughter, Barbara BORLEN (1939-2019).? Mildred died in Sept 1980 in Rochester, NY and is buried at the Grove Place Cemetery in Chili, NY.

Eleanor Rose ZIMMER was b. 18 Jul 1910 in Pueblo, CO to parents John J. ZIMMER and Mabel JORDAN.? Eleanor married Roland Willis STARKEY (1902-1953) and she died 3 Oct 2001 in Geneseo, NY.
