MILLER - ZIEGLER Family Autograph Album
I've "rescued" an old autograph album which originally belonged to Sallie J. MILLER and contains entries 1877 and 1878. It appears that Sallie attended the Keystone State Normal School in Kutztown, PA during that time period. In addition to entries from numerous friends and possible family, there also appears to be writing by a child or children in the book as well, including names: Edgar J. N. STEIN; Solon A. STEIN; and Sallie J. MILLER. I believe that the children's entries are from Sallie's children made years after the 1870's when they were small. Based on limited research and thanks to a MILLER Family researcher I have gathered the following information regarding Sallie and her family: Sallie I. MILLER was b. 25 Feb 1860 in Berks Co., PA to parents Joseph MILLER (1820-1890) and Mary Ann or Maria Anna ZIEGLER (1831-1918). Sallie was one of 6 children born to this couple including, William Oscar; Mantana Marianne; Sallie I.; Alvin J.; Fianna Eleanor; and George F. MILLER, all born between 1857 and 1872. Sallie married Lewis Adam STEIN (1852-1954) and together they had four children including, Solon Adam; Edgar Joseph; John Harold; and Lillian May Elisabeth or Margaretta Eunice STEIN, all born between 1881 and 1893. Sallie died 16 Dec 1944 in Reading, PA. Sallie’s son Edgar STEIN had a daughter Dorothy b. 1909 who married John William BROWN Jr. and they had a daughter Barbara BROWN b. 1934. Barbara married John “Jack” O’BRYNE and she died in Montclair, NJ in 1989. Her survivors included her husband and a son Keith O’BRYNE of Pittsburgh, PA. Indications are that Keith may have also lived in San Antonio, TX at some time after her death. I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
